Its a a foregone conclusion that the Canucks are trading the 15th overall pick. They've done everything but say so without actually saying so.

1. Rutherford, who is an open book, expressed that that Canucks may not be active on Free Agency because they might not have cap left by July 1. This despite the Canucks having over 13 mil of cap space as of right now. (Lots of speculation that a trade is already done and they are just waiting to announce and finalize)

2. Canucks upper management (Rutherford and Allvin) did not bother to attend the Draft Combine. Though their scouting team and AGMs attended, the 2 decision makers were not present. This leading to further speculation that the 15thoverall pick is all but traded.

Whats your prediction on a where the 15th overall gets traded to? Maybe as part of the package deal.

The favorite money right now is the 15th + gets traded for Marco Rossi. I'm not sold on it....

Here are the Canucks depth chart to help your prediction..

Debrusk - Ep40 - Hoglander
xxx- xxx- Garland
Joshua - Chytil- Sherwood
O'connor- Bleuger-Raty
Karlsson

Hughes- Hronek
M Pettersson- Myers
E.Pettersson- Mancini
Forbort

Demko
Lankinen

My predication: 15thOA + Willander package for JJ Peterka

Canucks then make a secondary move for Pavel Zacha... something like 2nd round pick + Lekkerimaki

Top 6

Debrusk- Pettersson-Peterka
Hoglander- Zacha- Garland

My predication: 15thOA + Willander package for JJ Peterka

Buffalo does not want a 25 1st. They might fo an unprotected 26 1st

If it's a 25 1st then something else is added in this deal

This is also contingent on other moves Buffalo does

If wilander isn't playing in playoffs then nothing is blocking the trade. Thst means prob lekk is involved

Walinder Lekk and 26 2nd

Couple things;

The cap is really jumping up this offseason so many teams will have extra money to play with. Because of that there are less teams who will be super tight to the cap. Most teams will have some wiggle room, thus making less players available in trade.

As for the GM not being there it could be for a personal reason like a family trip, some wedding, sick family member, etc. Or it could be that he really trusts his scouting team and wants them to make the best selections.

Often times we hear that a player interviewed well and they get selected higher than where they were ranked. I wonder if that is the GM falling for a player based on one or a few meetings and combine scores. It’s the scouts that watch hour upon hour of games to make there decisions. They are the more informed ones compared to the GM. They should be the ones who have more of a say in what players a team drafts.

Maybe before they traded for Marcus Pettersson last year but D-core is solid now. No room for MM
He’s being sarcastic as Canucks fans hated him so much we threaten his dog and his life.

My guess is zegras ,Josh Norris ,zhacha or hayton.

I imagine it’s something like trade it with a top prospect for Rossi.

I don’t know how effective a Pettersson, Rossi and Chytil C lineup is but this seems a move Vancouver would do.

That's not what is being rumored by some of the press though. It could very well be that they want the pick for Byram instead, but saying they don't want one when it is that you don't want one is not the same thing.

First of all…I can buy them taking whatever the best offer is for Byram and figuring out the rest later. Because they clearly don’t want the player and aren’t paying him.

But…Peterka isn’t Byram. And unless they have a same day deal in place to flip picks for a player…Kevyn Adams can’t move JJ Peterka for futures in his sixth offseason after failing five years in a row. There’s no way to sell it. And if he would do that for any players they value…Cozens and Mittelstadt wouldn’t have been flipped for NHL players at the deadline of all times.

Future packages for a player they won’t pay in Byram…sure if they can’t get anything else. He has to go before arbitration.

Future packages for an RFA with no arbitration rights they like? I give it a zero percent chance of happening. He can sit and mope for two years before they have to give a shit what he thinks.
