Finland is a good team and the U.S. team is hurt - on the back end. Stranger things have happened.

As a Canadian, IF we get the the GMG, I'd rather face the U.S.

Canada-Finland seems like the most likely given recent history, both have met in the 2016, 2019 and 2021 finals, while Canada having been to 5 of the last 6 finals and Finland 3 of last 6.

To beat Finland, the U.S. will need a repeat of today's game. Score early / Get the lead and some amazing goaltending.

As a Canadian, I am worried about the semis. Will we have a let down after today's mini-miracle or will today's win give us momentum (like last year's run)?

There is only so many times you can get away with being down 3-0 in the elimination games, they have to play the proverbial whole 60 minutes.

And my God the goaltending scares the shit out of me, we have just got to start producing better goalies in Canada, we have next to no depth there, it's gonna cost us, already has been.

What the devil is wrong and why has it been unadressed for so long?

Put emphasis on development of goalies? Look to other countries programs of what they are doing with their young goalies that maybe we are failing to do?

I mean, there is no excuse for this at all.
I'm sure they have. There is an element of luck to it and we haven't had any.

I don't buy that, it's been going on too long now. If it was luck we would be hitting on one now or then, we really aren't hitting on any when others like Russia and the U.S are hitting on ones all the time.

the U.S 2nd tier guys are better then our 1st..................disturbing.

If it was as easy as copying what the Americans/Russians are doing, someone would have done it by now. Someone probably has.

One will eventually come. In the meantime, if you have any ideas, send them to Hockey Canada <-- being sincere, not sarcastic.

I think they probably haven't been looking at what they are doing, most likely just sheer complacency since they are still winning enough titles, HC has been known to do that before.

humans tend to get self satisfied if they think things are "good enough"

I have HIGH hopes for Levi, think he has what it takes.

I don't think that is the case, JJ - I doubt it is because people at Hockey Canada are lazy or complacent. Remember, with exception of King Henrik, Sweden struggled for decades to produce an A+ goaltender.

Remember this...

Hmm, maybe.

We'll have to agree to disagree, JJ.

One thing we can agree on... It's been too long and, based on the number of players we produce, it doesn't make sense.
