After the Sweden game, I had a tiny smidge of hope that this Slovak team is not that bad. Buuuut it is. Reality slapped these boys in the face pretty hard, let's see if they can pick themselves up.

Um. Did they end it with a gang fight or what's with all the 59.55 penalties?

59:28 2 min FIN 7 JUOLEVI Olli - Slashing
59:55 10 min FIN 12 VÄLIMÄKI Juuso - Unsportsmanlike conduct
59:55 10 min FIN 10 BJÖRKQVIST Kasper - Unsportsmanlike conduct
59:55 10 min SVK 27 LESTAN Filip - Unsportsmanlike conduct
59:55 2 min SVK 6 FAHERVARY Martin - Cross-Checking
59:55 10 min SVK 19 PATAKY Oliver - Unsportsmanlike conduct

Hey guys, I was at the game last night, I tought I'd give some of what I saw!

First, your lineup for Finland is not good, Palmu didn't play, I was disappointed because I wanted to see him!

They were rolling those lines :

Kuokkanen - Borgstrom - Vesalainen
Vidgren - Vayrynen - Tolvanen
Koivula - Rasanen - Ruotsalainen
Bjorkqvist - Mattila - Luoto

Valimaki - Saarijarvi
Juolevi - Heiskanen
& I don't remember/noticed the 2 other pairs.

Goalies split the game Vehvilainen & Kaarlehto

Some Toughts :

- The Kuokkanen - Borgstrom - Vesalainen were dominant all night long. They showed great chemistry together.
- Tolvanen had a quiet night, but you can see all the potential that he has. He didn't had the best linemates has I tought that the 2 worst forwards for Finland were Vidgren & Vayrynen. He had his best moments on the PowerPlay where he played on the first unit with Kuokkanen, Borgtrsom, Vesalainen & Juolevi.
- Koivula & Rasanen were very good together, altough they didn't had much icetime. I found that Ruotsalainen was more of a product of the two than him bein good. I think he was the passenger on the line.
- The Bjorkqvist line were good, they showed nice speed.
- Don't worry if Juolevi didn't have a lot of points, he didn't play much, which is sad for me since it was the first that I saw him play live.
- Valimaki and Saarijarvi were very good, they should make a solide second pair in the tournament.
- On Defense everybody was pretty good except Leskinen who had a tough game.
- Slovakia was never in it, they didn't touch the puck much, the only players that were noticeable were Ruzicka, Studenic and Bondra.
- Vehvilainen faced 2-3 scoring chances and he made the stop on all.
- The other finn goalie had to make 2-3 good saves too.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask!

So I guess they finally found some rhythm and sync?

Because against Canada they looked terrible and pretty much every pass was into skates.

I watched the game against Canada on tv and they were much better last night. Passes thru the neutral zone were still tough but they had the speed to get to the loose pucks when they dumped it in. Slovakia were bad last night, but yeah you could say Finland found some rythm and synch. When they had the puck in the offensive zone they made some nice passing plays.

What happened at the end, with all those Unsportsmanlike conduct
penalties?

#6 of Slovakia cross checked one your D on your goalie. There was some pushing and shoving but nothing major, no fight just some pushing. I tought the refs would give roughing penalties but they gave 10 min misconduct, so no big deal.

How #2 Miro Heiskanen performed against Slovakia?
And what you did like him.
