2015 WJC: Russia beat Denmark 3-2 in a shootout.
2016 WJC: Russia beat Denmark 4-3 in OT in the QF.

Could just be the Danes play Russia tough recently, kind of like the Swiss against Canada. A pesky opponent.

Good job by Denmark. I thought this year we were a contender. Even though the top line is scratched I am beyond concerned...

Still your first line though...
You think Canada would have won the gold medal in 2015 without the line of Duclair, Domi, and Reinhart? Not a chance.
Therefore I wouldn't worry too much. Pre-season is always extremely misleading.

Not sure I agree. On paper this team looks fine. It lacks stars at forward, but I see plenty of depth. Many players with KHL experience. As many as ever.

But they are not getting results. I don't know why.

Takes time to build chemistry, patience I'm sure it will come. Except I said the same for Canada last year and they did awful, but at least Russia has Bragin and not some idiot.

Well yes. To give you some examples, not even 10 years old:

December 2009: Denmark - France 2-4
February 2010: Norway - Denmark 8-2

OK, maybe the worst games, but the picture is without doubt, that Denmark has improved a lot a the J20-level. The simple explanation is that there has been quite a focus on better physics.

Again, ppl, you are being absurd. Who cares what was on junior level years ago? Has zero to do with this pre-tournament game.

I wouldn't read much into this game. The Danes for some reason have played the Russians tough lately.

Russia sat out their top line, they'll be fine.

from the little I read about the game, it sounds like Denmark entirely just parked the bus for the whole game. this, combined with the team being jet lagged and missing a bunch of key players, and I think it's too early to panic.
