What seemed Heiskanen and Tolvanen did they show something?

Tolvanen had a good shot on the PP, you can tell he's a good shooter. He also had a pretty good hit early, but fairly quiet night.

The entire Finnish D had a pretty rough night, Juolevi got rocked and a couple other Dmen took some big hits and struggled containing the Canadian forwards.

Just 1 exhibition game, still lots of hockey to go.

Canada is kidding themselves with these penalties.

Gauthier and Dubois are hot-heads and need to learn to let things go.

My vote is on one of those 2 being last years Virtanen.

That's ********.
When not enough so not enough for those goalies and mediocre defense
Mediocre defense?? Are you joking? The core is young for sure, but still; 1 top 5 pick and possibly 4 1st rounders there (Vaakanainen, Heiskanen, Salo, Välimäki), definitely not mediocre for our usual standards. [MOD] Vehviläinen is bad I agree, we should play Kaarlehto instead, he's been good in TUTO this season.

Can't take much from that game given how Finland started out, but there were some encouraging things for Canada. Hart looked very competent and the defencemen played aggressively in an effective manner. I liked Barzal as Canada's best forward. Canada will need to take fewer penalties but at least the penalty kill looked good. They also passed up a lot of chances to get physical that I hope they will take in the real tournament. Anyway, overall a positive.

Can someone tell me how the following played? Much appreciated:

Dubois
Cirelli
Koivula
Kuokkanen
Fabbro

Dubois (needs let his play do the talking, he had 2 penalties and was close to getting 2 others. when he wants he can be good)
Cirelli (missed a few shifts after he got rocked by Tolvanen. Picked it up in the third)
Kuokkanen (pretty bad game, Couldn't get any offense going)

We will see when the games matter, Russia will a nice test for him right off the bat.

They will pepper him with some high quality opportunities.

Hart is pretty calm - pretty much exactly like Price. I'm not guaranteeing how he will play against Russia, but he was pretty good in the Super Series this year. I would assume that Russian team had a decent amount of players they have going to the WJC, but I am unsure.

I think Hart will end up being Canada's starter in the important games. If not, it'll be a pretty massive disappointment.

Was at the game, first time seeing Dubois play Hockey.

He gives you the feeling he's this year's Virtanen, just didn't think at all this game

The small crowd was pretty much wondering what was up with him, and laughing at points.

Ay,ay,ay...Columbus, what a horrible pick. Looks like a third rounder, not a third overall.

I smell shenanigans on Canadian teams drafting 2/3 of our legit 1st line and then not releasing the boys to play because "the NHL season is going on". :skeptic:

love WJC time for posts like this

Ignoring the penalties, I thought Dubois had a good game. He won the puck battles, was way stronger than the Finnish D and gave himself and his teammates time to get open and create with his strength. Used his reach well and played well on the PP. Back checks well and angles forwards off defensively.

Yes, I'm sure Chevaldayoff was thinking "Hey, I should really **** over Finland and not give them their player" when he decided to not give back a guy who has been one of his best players.

Those Canadian teams didn't release our boys either.

encouraging...but it is just a warm-up.

Jost is a beauty.

I was, obviously, jesting. I acknowledge though that it can also be read as a seriously given legitimate stupid opinion.
