GDT: Pre-tournament • Dec. 19 • Canada vs. Finland

Chabot-Myers as our top pairing should see heavy minutes, they look good.

I would agree. I am usually not psyched about Canada going with a heavy black scheme, but I like these.

The red seems more vibrant as well.
 
I don't think team Finland is as bad as this game. It's been 4 days of acclimation after travel already, so that shouldn't be a big factor. Hopefully Räsänen and Palmu will give a good boost to the offense and Vehviläinen sees zero minutes going forward.

After Morin, Sanheim, and Myers, the next wave if young Flyers D will be slow cooked and get lots of AHL or SHL time.

It's also why lots of Flyers fans are not worried about not having lots of top 6 forward prospects, we can always move a good young D for forward help. And as we have seen, some will overpay for that D help.
 
Good start to the tournament with this exhibition game.

Chabot dominated, Jost, Barzal, Strome, and Hart all were exceptional. Solid win and I loved the effort level and compete from the team, this Canadian is smiling.

I like the fact it seems the Q d-men don't mind laying on the body, they also seem to like wiring the puck on net with authority.
