Been more good than bad in the three outings. But for lords sake can they cut out the boneheaded mistakes!
Tsyplakov another bad giveaway, nearly cost a goal. Hogberg has looked solid.
Odelius Is miles ahead of George right now, he certainly looks closeKids are making a good impression
Besides Thiessen, Odelius looks like a player, Gancomb (sp?) with a lot of jump
Agreed. He has been noticeable in a good way. Had a great opportunity tonight to score. If Theising continues to develop, he will be on the big club in a few seasons and replace Cizikas.
From what I saw Tsypkalov should start in the AHL. He's going to be an NHL player, but he needs to make some adjustments wrt how he perceives time and space on the smaller ice. He should play 18 minutes per night in Bridgeport. It would be bad to have him play more than 4th line TOI right now in the NHL. Heck, the best option for the 4th line RW role from what I've seen is Maggio.
The #1 thing I think NYI should be concerned about so far is the Engvall-Nelson-Palmieri line. Right now I'd say put Nelson with Lee and Holmstrom (they look fine), but Nelson also doesn't look good. Also, if I didn't know how McLean played last year, I don't know whether I'd think he should be AHL or ECHL bound.
The first line absolutely oozes athleticism. (I was surprised often enough by Horvat's athleticism last year, but I know better now.) They haven't had athletes together like that on a line since at least the LaFontaine days or before.
Hogberg looks very competent so far. So, that's good.
