I'll be at this one. First one in a long time, and taking the kids. Should be a good time. For them at least. :sarcasm:

Connor McDavid is gonna blow past the defense all night. Should be fun to witness in person.

Boring Azor Aho: My normal grocery store doesn't carry a couple of things I like. So sometimes I go to Target to get them instead.

Target is becoming K-mart-esque. Many of the stores are starting to look dumpy, shelves are often a mess, etc. People either want cheap/cheap (Walmart), or buy online now days. In 10 years (maybe less), Target, Macys, JCPenney, Belk, etc...will all either be out of business or fighting for survival the way Sears and Kmart are today.

Sorry to dump on a sponsor like that.

Odd, I've never been in a Target that reminded me of K-Mart in any way up here. But your overall point is true, and pretty obvious at this point. All the numbers are trending that way seemingly. Most malls are going down too if trends stay the same. Also, go hockey team.

The Target's here in Greensboro are still very decent places to shop and very popular. I don't even set foot in one on the weekends due to overwhelming amounts of human beings. I see no signs of degradation, or declining sales. However, I can't tell you the last time I entered a K-Mart but when I have, it was a ghost town. Walmart of course is packed all hours of the day, 7 days a week.

Yeah, I was exaggerating a bit. Compared to how Target's were a few years ago, some of the older ones are starting to trend that way (more dumpy). The one at Crossroads Cary can be dumpy at times. A while back, I needed a cheap long sleeve shirt for some painting I had to do and since I was already at Home Depot, I stopped in there to see if I could grab one. There was clothes laying everywhere and the shelves were a mess. I haven't been in a KMart in probably 15 years, but it reminded me of that.

The newer "super-Targets" still seem to be much better.

Our Target is maybe a year old, it's like an upscale Walmartz

The red card thing at Target is pretty good if you shop there all the time. 5% over the course of a year adds up.

True, but Amazon has a 5% credit card as well. In fact, pretty much every store does so while it is nice, it's not much better than elsewhere. AMEX has a card that gives 6% at grocery stores and 3% at gas stations as well. It has a $95 annual fee, but when I signed up, they had a $100 bonus offer and then they had a promotion back then where it gave me two years of Amazon Prime for free..so basically, the first 3 years had no annual fee. With a family, even with the $95 annual fee it's a no brainer.
