I agree. Wish KA started this process 3 years ago. This team needs good veterans and players, they can't play kids, they don't have a plan B. They don't have center depth. This doesn't mean you should give away stupid contracts, but KA does have a trade option, I've listed a huge list of players without trade protection above.
Did he have permission to talk to other teams?Signings already coming in.
Beetuzzi to Chicago
There is no "legal tampering period" in the NHL.Did he have permission to talk to other teams?
Or when did free tamper agency unofficially begin?
Botts didn’t want to, Pegula made him.I still can't believe Botts ****ed up Skinner's negotiations so bad (or got forced to give him the bag by Pegula) that he got $9M for max term with a NMC.
Good for both
I thought AV would be higher, overall I think Reinhart is a player who will age well, maybe the last few years will be bad.Florida cost themselves at least 20 million by not signing an extension prior to this year. Reinhart was a 7x7 guy prior to this year. Giving him a 69 million dollar contract is insane. Reinhart will be 38 when this contract ends.
Contrarianism looks great when it works.Everyone chased the kings model, then the chicago model and now we're back to the kings model and overpaying for physical players (remember Tim Murray?).
What they should learn is that you need an edge, some kind of advantage and build your team around that.
I know we need some toughness but what the Sabres should work towards is setting the next trend, not chasing it.

It’s been stated by multiple hockey people in the organization or connected to the organization. Rivet being one. Botts was going to let him go since he out priced himself and Pegula didn’t want to let a 40 goal scorer walk so he gave in.Evidence or agenda?
Rivet is not a reliable source and hates Skinner. It’s been stated by multiple hockey people in the organization or connected to the organization. Rivet being one. Botts was going to let him go since he out priced himself and Pegula didn’t want to let a 40 goal scorer walk so he gave in.
