OT: Power play break interviews Matt Barnaby

Today I hosted a 30 minute interview with former NHL player and ex NY Ranger Matt Barnaby.. Matt was open and honest about his career and post career in the NHL.

Here are some of the highlights

We shot the interview today it will be edited and posted in a week or so.. I will be out with Matt the next two nights and hoping he will agree to a much longer interview,. Teaser coming soon

You have to ask Barnaby about the 96 Sabres Philly brawl where Barnaby was leveled and laying on the ice and a brawl ensues. While he is laying on the ice you can hear someone, who I assume is Garth Snow, yelling at him, "Barnaby you're a F_cking Pu$$y" and he gets up and jumps Garth Snow.

You can hear the comments at about 45 seconds. Stuff like this made Barnaby exciting to watch and a super pest to play against. One of my favorite Rangers during some dark years in New York.

That started the snow Barnaby feud that lasted years. Snow claimed he was faking to drawva. Penalty . Matt loved playing in ny and it really comes across in this segment

I knew there was ill blood between them, but I could have sworn Snow denied making the comments. Either way Barnaby was a fan favorite who really gave everything he could to help his team, very excited to see this when you upload it!

When we were recapping his trades and to what cities we decided to skip Tampa and go right to NY . I asked why and his words were.

" I was never given a chance to excel under Torts he only treats tough guys as tough guys and never expands their roles. " " torts is not a good coach and yes he won a cup but guys don't like playing for him"

Spoke to him off the air and every single other coach was praised and he i even asked about Ron Low And he stated Low was all heart and how guys loved him and really wanted to win for him
 
The more reassurance that comes out about Torts being a ********, the more I cant wait to see the Sedins crumble under him. Should be fun to watch.

Ron Low was a horrible coach. Not that Sather gave him a lot to work with but we were never ever going to make the playoffs with that guy running the bench.

i wish this Rangers team we have now had this kind of toughness :help:
 
Loved Barnaby when he was here, great team player.

He also used to post on the old NYR BB on the team website - and when he left, he came back and posted a thank you and farewell to the fans.

Classy guy.
