QF Games

1. Sweden v. 4. Slovakia

The other 3 depend on tomorrow's games, Russia/Denmark, Canada v. Winner of FIN/CZE, USA v. loser of FIN/CZE are likely the 3 other games. This will occur if USA beats Denmark and Russia beats Slovakia.

We would then see SWE/SVK v. CAN/FIN/CZE and RUS/DEN v. USA/FIN/CZE semifinals.

It looks like winner of Fin-Cze is most likely going to face Canada if Russia doesn't loose any points to Slovakia and USA doesn't lose to Denmark (lol).

My guess is Finland beats Czech so:
-Finland vs Canada
-Czech vs USA

I much rather have Finland face Canada than USA right now.

yep, assuming those first 2 games go as they should then it will be

1. Sweden
2. USA
3. Canada
4. Denmark

1. Russia
4. Slovakia

and Czechs/Finland will be playing for 2nd. I think both teams would prefer to face Canada. The way Canada/USA have played thus far, USA have been much better.

By typing if USA loses, If Danes win ( paraphrasing ) so-ooo many times, you just doubled and redoubled the potential for a monumental upset...

Unfortunately, doubling and redoubling zero...changes NOTHING!

USA gets loser of FIN/CZE...CAN plays winner...RUS gets Danes...3Kr gets SVK

Endofstory

Not really related to standings but does anybody know if the Finns are automatically tied in to the last (1:00 est) quarterfinal slot? Just trying to plan my saturday.....trying to guess when the US will play

Be careful what you wish for...

Be careful what you wish for...

Its absolutely true.

Canada has been extremely meh so far this tournament, they aren't the best team on paper and they are playing way below abilities as well.

That's not to say they cant turn it up once the playoffs begin, but right now FIN/CZE are both very much hoping to match up with Canada in the Quarters.

Well Finland can do better job in defense and goalie wise too. It's not like Finland has played over it's potential. We have only one very effective scoring line also. So there's much room for improvement.

But yes Canada always has that potential too. Anything can happen in this game but I got a good feeling about Finland.
