Speculation: Potential First Round Matchup vs Montreal/Ottawa

If things stay the course the way they are, and we make the playoffs with our current position in 5th or maybe 4th, it is looking like a potential first round match up against either Montreal or Ottawa.
Montreal maybe leading the division, but my money is on Boston winning the division at the end of the year.

So my question is, of those 2 teams, which team would you like us to face in the first round?

Either will be ok by me...loved the Leafs vs. Sens beatings of the 2000s, but a competitive Leafs vs. Habs series could spark a nice rivalry for the next decade :)
 
Have we officially clinched a playoff birth? No, then let's not talk about anything regarding the playoffs.

Not till we've clinched for sure can we talk about playoffs. I refuse to vote. I don't care who it is, I just want to get in.

I'd rather face the Habs, the Sens scare me for some reason.

Its a valid question and whatever people say on this forum won't magically contribute to the leafs making or missing the playoffs.

Don't like the thread? not a big deal...move along.
 
I wasn't superstitious until last year someone made a thread with the percentage chance in the thread title. Seeing that number drop every day will haunt me forver.
 
Lets not let 7 years of no playoffs temper our expectations so drastically.
It's just a hypothetical discussion.

I would rather face the Habs myself.

The Sens could potentially have Spezza and Karlsson back by playoff time and they would be scary. And besides, we are 4-0 vs the Sens in the playoffs, somethings gotta give eventually.
 
Pretty sure we have always beaten the sens in the you know whats. All I can say is if a certain hockey club makes it to a certain event. I vote to that, that certain team should take on the sens. I will not confirm or deny any of this as truth, however.
 
One of these teams is missing their #1 defenseman and their #1 centre.

I'd love to see us play the Habs. The tension, and anticipation by players and both fan-bases would be epic and really jack-up the rivalry even more going forward. Would also probably shatter the tv numbers of any first round match-up ever.
 
Remember the thread last year, where most people picked playing the Flyers in the first round was ideal?

How'd that turn out ?
 
I'd have to go with the sens. Even though they beat us last game they didn't play so well. Plus spezza/karlsson are both out. Besides we got home ice advantage in both arenas
 
don't buy tickets to the concert unless you know for sure the band will be playing music.
