ah gotcha, so just a gap time between when players are told and the official announcement

Any surprise, Aidan Park level cuts this year?
Not really, there are always a couple top 6 type players who don’t make it because there are top 6 guys better but don’t fit the bottom 6 mold. There’s one player there will be lots of discussions about particularly on this board who is on the roster though. I also didn’t see Aidan Park getting cut as all that surprising so maybe there will be others who are surprised

Closest to an "Aidan Park level cut" would be Cooper Simpson
Only scouts really know the level of players.

Park had the stats but lost his spot next to Celebrini and Eiserman to Ziemmer.

This year, he didn't even play in the USHL. He plays very well in Prep but it's very difficult to assess. In scoring, he is behind a player who will be drafted very low or not at all.

Same thing for Drake Murray.

So by deducing from the Hockey Journal announcements, The first five have made the team, and the rest likely have not. They mention for NY Journal one non-NY native playing on a local team also made it, so probaably Patrick Quinlan made it. Also assuming they are not counting William Moore as a NY native. If this is correct Whitehead and Dennis seem like big names to not make it.

Yeah, all I know is that he had Canadian citizenship but he either didn't have or was applying for American Citizenship. I still think Moore could do the same thing and play for the U17 and go to the OHL depending on what happens with his rights.
He probably had Canadian citizenship, and US Permanent Residence status. PR status is the big hurdle for any immigrant, and the US would rightly presume that they would be on track to getting US citizenship, should they so choose.

The big one everyone will be talking about I'm sure is William Moore. Everyone else is kind of chalk in my mind, not a ton of surprises. Maybe you could say Cooper Simpson and Nic Whitehead but when they're competing for top 6 spots against who made it, it makes more sense. Those 2 aren't going to make the team and be in bottom 6 roles, just not those type of players

Taking 3 goalies is stupid. I hate that they're doing that again.
Me too, I do not get it

Glad Hafele made it, kinda taken a shine to this kid. Moore, McKinney, Mooney, Potter up front is gonna be exciting. Stuart is Brad Stuart’s kid…his younger brother Logan (2008) is apparently even better. Of course Horcoff also with an NHL daddy. I think most know by know Mooney is cousins with Logan Cooley as well.

Phillips is the guy on defense I’m most interested in seeing. Huge physical tools, NeutralZone loves him but apparently is pretty raw. Hear good things about Trethewey and Barnett. Bracco is Jeremy’s younger brother.

Have heard nothing about the goalies except that Boettinger has been pretty hyped for a couple years now.

Seems like another really talented class. Not sure is has the overall physical profile of the 2006’s in terms of size - seem a bit more smaller skill guys in this group?

Logan Stuart is really good. Very good all around player. One of the top 2026 guys for sure.
