Who is the next crop of American talents born in 2007? Here is a stat-watching prediction of what the roster could look like. Who did I missed? Who shouldn't be there?

Ryker Lee, Geno Carcone & Ryan Rucinski could have a chance. Maybe Gavin Cornforth but he's already in the USHL so idk if he'd switch.

You’d have to think that more Ceasers kids than just Horcoff have a shot at the team.

Lee, Carcone and Cornforth have already been passed over for the U17 NTDP. Next year will be ‘07’s.

Minnesota has some big talent coming up here shortly with their current freshman crop of high schoolers, but I'm not sure if any of them are going to qualify for next year's team. A little less certain on what we have with the sophomore class.

Cooper Simpson as noted by the OP is part of that really good freshman class along with his former teammate Cole bumgarneer who transferred to benilde st. Margaret's this year, a school who has a long history of alumni on the team including mcmorrow this year on the u17. Mason jenson, berchild and Parker trottier at shattuck u14 etc etc coming, but the sophomore age group a little more cloudy. Interested if anyone else has any input

Cooper Simpson is a Sophomore and a 07, the rest are 08s or late 07s listed.

Out of Minnesota hometown wise you have guys like Malachi Mckinnon, Gavin Kor, Conrad Frondrk

Yes you are correct. Not enough coffee yet this morning ;) The rogers sophomores are all pretty good. So is Carson Steinhoff on shakopee w/ simpson. I guess throw ashton schultz from minnetonka on the list as well.

If William Moore was committed to the OHL, where would he rank in the OHL draft currently? At the beginning of the season it seemed like he was spoken about as one of the top guys, is this still the case?

He would/will go 1st or 2nd. Race is between him and Ryan Roobroeck…there isn’t a bad choice from a junior team perspective.

I would love to see him in the OHL, but it’s clear learning about Moore, that education is very important, so the USA route may be more enticing. He’s a straight A student and also an award winning classical pianist, very bright future for William!

Roobroeck is the clear #1, but #2 is a toss up between Moore and Schaefer.

I think I’d have Schaefer going ahead at this point, but it’s still close enough where it wouldn’t be much of a surprise if Moore went ahead.

You also have to take into account whether or not these kids will report to the teams in the top 3 or so. Just because Moore is a top-3 prospect, doesn’t nessasarily mean he will go top-3.

The NTDP flight risk is real here.

To be clear, Moore is only a top 3 pick if he commits, goes without saying that if he indicates the USA route, that he will be a mid round pick
