Me too.. are they going to start bringing in young guys now I wonder?.. Brisson possibly?

Brisson likely makes the roster next year. I think Hertl takes Marchessaults spot on the top line. There were rumours that they would be willing to trade Nic Roy for a winger. Teams would be lining up for his services if he's made available. Young, cheap caphit, can move up or down the lineup, can play wing or center, has a cup and is good defensively.

How is that lineup over the cap
Technically it is, but that’s only because Backstrom ($9M) and Oshie (~$5.75M) count in the summer but both probably go on LTIR when the season starts.

They have eight NHL D with the additions, even with Jensen going the other way. EDIT: The GM said July 3 that they will be keeping eight defensemen to start the year.

The team should be compliant and maybe even a little room once it all shakes out. And the team cap will be lower if kids displace some vets in camp.

Canucks:

Hoglander - Pettersson - DeBrusk
Heinen - Miller - Boeser
Joshua - Blueger - Garland
Podkolzin - Suter - Sherwood

Hughes - Hronek
Soucy - Myers
Forbort - Desharnais

Demko
(Silovs - unsigned RFA)

The defence doesnt look pretty in the bottom 4, 5M capspace with 2.5 LTIR coming in the fall though

Even with the update it's probably mid, unless Petey and DeBrusk form a symbiotic relationship and Myers is solid with Cole gone. If those two things (and the new-look 4th line gelling) happens, this team could be quite solid (I view them like a Boston Bruins team, with two strong C's, couple strong wings and D-men, plus ofc Demko, and then the rest are solid or hungry role players).

(Assuming Landeskog and Lehkonen are ready to start the year)

Drouin - MacKinnon - Lehkonen
**Landeskog - Mittelstadt - Rantanen
Wood - Colton - O'Connor
Kelly - Wagner - Kiviranta***

Toews - Makar
Girard - Manson
De Haan - Brannstrom

Georgiev

** = Whole line of wingers can shift down if we somehow have Nichushkin come back and the team wants to have him play.
*** = This whole line is in flux, we have like 9 guys who could end up on this bottom line and a ton of competition. Expecting it to look any of multiple ways.

Taking a crack at the Preds lineup.

Forsberg - O'Reilly - Nyquist ( no need to touch this line from last year)
Evangelista - Stamkos - Marchessault
Lind - Novak - Scissons
Smith - Jankowski - Kemell/Glass

Josi - Fabbro
Skjei - Carrier
Lauzon - Schenn
x - Stastney

Saros
Wedgewood

Predators line-up largely will hinge on if they play Stamkos at C or not. From what literally everyone has said, he's more of a winger at this point so if Preds coaching staff listens to this, probably something like this:

Forsberg - O'Reilly - Nyquist
Stamkos - Novak - Marchessault
Parssinen - Glass - Evangelista
Smith - Sissons - McCarron
x: Jankowski, Tomasino

Josi - Fabbro
Skjei - Carrier
Lauzon - Schenn
x: Stastney

Saros
Wedgewood

Brunette loves Jankowski and will probably play him on the third line instead of Parssinen. Tomasino likely traded this year too.
