Defense is ugly. No good extra forwards either we will have to dip into the AHL for that (Blumel I suppose is fine). This team is about the same as the Stars prior to getting Tanev. Not great defensively

They went the quantity over quality route on D and didnt address the fact that hardly anyone was producing in the playoffs amongst our forwards. Let's see how it works out for them. Only brightside is Suter is gone so at least we get to hate some new guys now.

Wouldn't be shocked if they signed a utility 14th forward (last year it was Chris Tierney) and Nolan Foote ended up hitting the waiver wire or being moved. Erik Haula played a chunk of last season on the Hughes line, but we'll see how the new coaching staff chooses to deploy them.

And the tbd forward ends up being Tomas Tatar. We'll see if the coaching staff reunites Tatar with Hischier which was effective in 2022-23. So maybe something like:

He has a sports hernia. That's not on LTIR injury. His wrist isn't something we can put him on LTIR for - he can play through that one. Are we really thinking a sports hernia is going to end his career?

from what I understand he has a pretty serious hip issue and a sports hernia. He's going to need surgery more than likely.
