Canucks:

Hoglander - Pettersson - DeBrusk
Heinen - Miller - Boeser
Joshua - Blueger - Garland
Podkolzin - Suter - Sherwood

Hughes - Hronek
Soucy - Myers
Forbort - Juulsen

Demko
(Silovs - unsigned RFA)

The defence doesnt look pretty in the bottom 4, 5M capspace with 2.5 LTIR coming in the fall though
I like that forward group a lot. Heinen, DeBrusk and Sherwood should be solid adds.

Still need a puck mover on D, but lotta of time to grab that. This roster is far better than what they had coming out of July 1 a year ago.

They probably have to trade a D, perhaps TVR.

Clear a forward roster spot for Ryan Leonard, if he decides to turn pro.
Leonard is going back to Boston College Capitals top prospect Leonard returning to BC

Depends on which prospect wins the 2nd line W job, either Lysell, Merkulov, McLaughlin, etc. If none of them are good enough you could move Geekie and Brazeau up a line each and slot Johnny Beecher back into the fourth line.

Frederic-Poitras-Geekie
Jones-Kastelic-Brazeau

This looks like a transition year to our youth. We'll still have ~$4 million in cap to use after signing our RFAs, plus a likely trade of McGroarty. You can see why McGroarty wasn't guaranteed a roster spot this year if Lambert has an uphill battle. Ehlers may be moved during the season, too. Lots can still happen.

I would say Mailloux will make the team and push Harris out with Barron getting games as well.

Also Montembault/Primeau for G

Not a playoffs team unless a big surprise. At least we have 2 firsts next year again.

I want to see Nashville, Boston, Utah and Seattle's lines.

They made the most noise.
Utah is probably something like this

Keller - Bjugstad/Kerfoot/Cooley- Schmaltz
Crouse - Bjugstad/Kerfoot - Maccelli
Doan - Cooley - Guenther
Carcone - Stenlund - McBain
Jenik, Matikka, O'Brien will potentially all draw in. Might see O'Brien instead of Carcone. Hayton if he's signed. Raty potentially.

Sergachev - Marino
Cole - Durzi
Valimaki - Kesselring
Soderstrom, Kolyachanok, maybe Szuber, hopefully never KConn

Ingram
Vejmelka

Hopefully a better D than Cole is signed.

Assuming no Laine**

Gaudreau Monahan Fantilli
Johnson Jenner Marchenko
Chinakhov Sillinger Voronkov
Danforth Kuraly Olivier
McKown?

Werenski Severson
Provorov Jiricek
Mateychuk Gudbranson
Christiansen

Merzlikins
Tarasov

We expect to pick up another D (Mateychuk to AHL), and get someone back for Laine.

Sillinger over Voronkov at center is highly offensive to me.

Gaudreau - Monahan - Fantilli
Chinakhov - Voronkov - Marchenko
Johnson - Jenner - Sillinger
Danforth - Kuraly - Olivier

It looks like there is room for another bottom six forward, maybe coming back in the Laine deal.

There will have to be another D, hopefully Nate Schmidt, who can take over either side depending on whether Jiricek or Mateychuk is sent down.

Did we learn something new about Kane's injuries? We can't just toss him in LTIR. He needs to be too injured to play.

He has a sports hernia. That's not on LTIR injury. His wrist isn't something we can put him on LTIR for - he can play through that one. Are we really thinking a sports hernia is going to end his career?
Hearing sports hernias are kinda like lacerated spleens… could be 5 weeks, could be 82 games… depends when the playoffs start and who the doctor is.

Sports hernias usually have a recovery time of around 6 weeks, would buy a bit of time but not a lot to open up cap space
