I don't see much in the way of changes from last year. Barring any more signings or trades, I'd go with this for our current lime up starting the season.

Bourque Pleks Gio
Patches DD Briere
A. Gally Eller B. Gally
Moen White Prust
Paros

Markov PK
Gorges Tinordi
Bou Diaz
Drew

Price
Budaj

What I'd like to see

Bourque Plex Gio
Patches Briere B. Gally
A. Gally Eller DD
Paros White Prust
Moen

Markov Gorges (until Emelin gets back)
Tinordi PK
Bou Diaz

With Emelin

Markov Emelin
Tinordi PK
Gorges Diaz
Bou

Eventually, in the future, I'd like to see:

Tinordi PK
Beaulieu Emelin
Gorges Diaz/Pateryn

I just feel like Galchenyuk NEEDS to be playing his natural position. In the playoffs he played center if I remember correctly and he was much better.

I think this is pretty close to what he opening lineup will look like, but will change when (if) some of the guys step up. I think Galchenyuk will become more of a 2nd line player this season. I'm hoping Bourque comes back to his 25 goal form (sort of like how he played last season)

rearranging highchairs on the titanic

You know, the team doesn't look like a winning team, but they didn't look like one last season either. Last summer the general outlook was pretty negative too and we ended up having a pretty good season.

Switch Eller and Briere and that's not so bad.

Bergevin would be a joke if he actually went into the season with that lineup..

That lineup is soo small and soft, midget or 2 on each line almost, and 1 dmen over 6'1

:baghead:

You would think that watching the team melt down at the need of the year, and get pushed around easily in the playoffs, he would do something...but so far nothing...actually added another soft small player.

The thing you have to remember is that Briere does not play well wing, so does Eller. This means that DD will have to move to wing or move out completely (fingers crossed). The winger situation stays simmilar, Galchenyuk will not get top minutes they want to groom him well, and if he is showing that he is more than ready for top 6 I believe he might see it.

Our leading scorer and only power forward on the 3rd line playing soft minutes?

First of all, with the way Therrien rolls his lines there are no 1st line, 2nd line, 3rd line. They all play around 15-17 mins at ES. Second of all, I'd say Bourque is a lot closer to being a PWF than Pacioretty who barely crashed the net last season. Last thing, any line with Briere and Desharnais involved will need to get soft minutes if you want to them to actually bring something to this team.

I disagree with you on the 3 lines play equal minutes. They don't and they didn't. MT will split playing time as much s possible but there is a large quantifiable gap between the ice times players play. A. Gally and Eller had way less toi than their 1st line computer parts.

Secondly, even if you think Bourque was more of a power forward, Patches was our top goal scorer this year (Ryder split season) and top point getter this year and top 2 or 3 last year. I like Bourque as much as the next guy but Patches is far and away the better player.

This lineup would be nice if Gionta was traded to say the Devils, and we signed one of Morrow or Jagr, and added another dmen.

The gap is obviously bigger between the two Gallys and Plekanec and Gionta but those two were rookies (20 years old and 19 years old) so I expect Therrien to give him around 12:30-13 mins this season.
