Here are the people who are playing for the 2012 World Championships who won a Stanley Cup, Olympic Gold, but haven't won a Gold at the World Championships.

Player | Stanley Cup Year | Olympic Gold Year
Duncan Keith|2010|2010
Ryan Getzlaf|2007|2010
Corey Perry|2007|2010

Anyone else?

Ovechkin? Stanley cup this year, than gold medal in Sochi? ;)

hopefully someone gets into the club this year.

and I hope Corey Perry and Ryan Getzlaf are two of the inductees. :)

Haven't won the World Championships which seems to be the most difficult thing out of all three.

It is. Nothing funny about that. It's easy for good players to win SC, because that's their job. To win the Olympics on a contending team isn't that hard either because nobody declines Olympic team. But it is hard thing to find some will to fly acroos the world to play hockey after the long season when you have a choice beetween that and a sunny beach. That's what I call difficult. Who does that, definitely deserves to be in TGC ;)

edit: didn't mean to say winning SC or OG is easy. just that winning WC is not only tough on the ice, but off the ice also.

The WC is simply not on the same level as Olympic gold or the Stanley Cup. It is not even close.

And that's not the point of WC to be on the same level. wouldn't that be lame to have two similar tournaments (Olympics and WC)? It's different type of tournament with different teams. That's why it's tough to get into TGC. You have to do something more than just compete for "big" trophies.

Id actually love to see a annual or bi-annual tournament with the worlds best players. But then again it would probably make the Olympics less exciting.

Maybe I am wrong but if Los Angeles wins the Stanley Cup won't Mike Richards be apart of this group? I know he has won Olympic Gold in 2010 and didn't he also win a World Hockey Championship in 2007?

I made a list of currently active players who are on medal away from joining the TGC. I intentionally left of players who are very unlikely to get the last medal, e.g. Dominik Hasek (missing WC), Sergei Fedorov (missing OG), Niclas Hävelid (missing SC), Matt Cooke (missing OG). Bolded players have the chanse to complete their collection this year:

BTW, kaneone, how where you able to make a nice table? I tried with HTML tags but that didn't seem to do the trick

When I wanted to create table for the first time, I just clicked to "quote" somebody who had one and copied what he did, then added my data :)

This is how you make a table, obviously without the periods in the table tags:

[.table][.b]Player[./b]|[.b]Stanley Cup Year.[/b]|[.B]Olympic Gold Year[./B]
Duncan Keith|2010|2010
Ryan Getzlaf|2007|2010
Corey Perry|2007|2010[./table]
