During the EA Game Trailer that was shown live yesterday at Gamescom. Bergeron scored a goal and there was a different goal horn played. Keep in mind that EA usually gets access to this stuff before the season starts as well. It sound a little bit like Calgary's horn.

I highly, highly doubt it.

It would have been leaked by now, and EA has had Lucic as an assistant captain for 3 years now.

I think it's just for the trailer. They used that German techno song as the background for the whole trailer, so maybe having the regular Bruins horn (with the duplicate music to come) wouldn't have worked, so they substituted another team's horn, perhaps.

Just spitballing the idea out there. Personally, I think it's reading a little too much into the game. Then again, if they're wasting money on^D^D^D^D^D^D^D^D changing the Garden's concourse areas, they might be thinking of retooling the horn.

Then again, it was our horn in 2011, wasn't it? Hockey players and fans are superstitious - if they change the horn and we tank, at least one idiot will say it's the horn. Why tinker with it when we've done pretty well - four years, two Stanley Cup finals, one win. When the Chara window shuts, change the horn each year until we find one we like.

Not even homer talk when I say the Bruins have the best goal horn, plzzzzz don't change it.

I'm sure you just made a typo and meant to post that the Bruins HAD the best goal horn and replaced it with synthetic crap.

The Budliner horn was THE BEST.

My stomach still turns a little when we are in another barn that uses the same generic horn. :(

I love our goal horn and song now. It's more 'powerful' and goes with the feeling of celebrating a goal against the stupid, stupid Habs very nice. Versus some nasally little whining siren that the Caps have, for example.

This goal horn sounds a little more like the Bruins' first goal horn, which was very similar to Montreal's current horn -- the train sound -- which was one of the cooler things about an otherwise-lame experience in the transition from Garden to FleetCenter.

It wasn't until garbage time of the 2006-07 season -- the first Chiarelli season -- that the Bruins joined the way-too-many copycats of the Chicago Blackhawks, who introduced the goal horn probably 30 years ago or more. For several years, Buffalo was the only copycat.

The Bruins' goal horn is nowhere near original (their train horn was), but once you win you don't mess with the magic, and the current horn is like the current jersey and the B with serifs. Win the Cup and now you married it for as long as this team still resembles that one at its core.

And one of the corniest goal songs in the league.

Yup, it's not a great song. Generic and lame.

For the horn, it would be cool if they changed it. Fun fact the Bruins are one of two teams which don't have an actual goal horn. The Bruins use a recording. The other team that doesn't use a real horn it's the New York Rangers. Would love if the Bruins got a real horn. The one they use now is used by a bunch of teams in Europe.

+1 for getting a real horn....or even siren... or even whistle.
Going even further, they should comb new england to find some vintage relic that can live out its last days in the Garden...

The older (read grouchier) I get, the less patience I have for repetitive noise.

I find the Capitals siren, the "Lets Go Rangers" song and "Chelsea Dagger" all extremely grating. I'm sure that there are those who find the Bruins horn/overused techno song to be equally annoying.

I know that the song was added when the team moved to the Fleetcenter. I only remember the last few seasons at the Garden and not very vividly.

What did they used to do when the Bruins scored? Was it just a red light?

The old Bruins goal horn was an actual compressed air horn from one of the silver line trains that live in North Station.

Edit: See previous post and attached youtube.

Oh, did they actually have that one at the Old Garden?

I know that the one that proceeded the current foghorn was an old train horn.

I think Chelsea Dagger is awesome.

I also think that the Capitals going nuts on everything is also awesome for some reason.

At the same time, I appreciate the Blues who stick to the same organ song they have since 1967.

I don't like ours though, too overused throughout the league....too generic. I think it's time to give the B's something unique...however, I fear unique would equal a dropkick song.

SHIPPANNN UPPP TA BAWSTANNNNNNN! WHOAAAAA!!!

Only thing I have against our goal horn is that it's too short.

Especially after a big goal, I wish we'd play it a little longer. It's just blare-blare then done. I'm not talking about making it 40 seconds long like the Senators, but a little more would be cool.

Maybe one more blast or something in the playoffs or GWG, or for all of them.

I don't think a few outspoken critics will be enough to change this anyways. When the guys in suits go to games, they see fans going nuts when we score goals, clapping and singing along with the goal song. It'll maybe change when the team sucks, the crowd leaves, and they want to create a "new image" for the team. A few years away, hopefully!

Goal scored, drop the lights.

Full lazer show, fog machine.

Rave it up!
