Didn't know about the Kanadan Malja and the forest finns, interesting.

In Montreal there would be a bit more people at decent prices but still junior hockey and this tournament isn't a big thing here and the city is all about the Habs and Soccer... Never had a junior team succeed here, there's never been less hockey players and nobody plays on outside rinks anymore. RDS the network that show all the games don't even talk about it and have their worst play by play and analysts for the games and they do it in the studio not even at the Arena...
its pretty sad seeing 2 supposed "hockey Mecca's" struggle with getting butts in the seats...prices be damned
when the Tourny was in Edmonton, the lowest attendance was a Czech/Denmark game and 12,967 people showed up
The level of prospect at this years wjhc is a little underwhelming.
That's not true. RDS talks about it a lot. Not on the same level as the Habs but they do talk about it. Also, Stéphane Leroux is the main junior guy for them and he's been doing the WJCs for ages. It's not like they're putting random guys there. Your speculation about rinks is also false. Less people play hockey than soccer, but there is still a lot of people playing outisde at the rinks. Don't act as if people don't care about hockey here.
Would we be seeing the same problems in Quebec City?
IMO, I think a QC/Halifax tournament would do exceptionally well, like they did for the Worlds in 2008.
The world juniors isn't really a marquee event for Toronto (even Montreal I guess) like it would be for a smaller city like Edmonton. It's price liked one though lolits pretty sad seeing 2 supposed "hockey Mecca's" struggle with getting butts in the seats...prices be damned

45 dollars to see Canada Latvia
by game time I'm sure tickets will be 25 bucks each.
I'm starting to wonder if secondary market ticket purchasing is a foreign concept (pardon the pun) to those in Quebec.
