He definitely isn't. Weird one, but they've let in some pretty OK, but not great players in the HHoF recently.

Is Pierre Turgeon really Hall of Famer?

I mean he has big numbers because he played in a high scoring era and played a lot of games.

I saw him as a star, a really good player, but not a hall of famer.

He was in the prime of his career when he was here, and Damphousse and Koivu were ahead of him on the C depth chart.
He put up a lot of points but was soft. Many voting look at stats mainly, probably why

...this year's class is loaded with crap...there are far more deserving people than Turgeon, Vernon, or Barrasso...
Barrasso has a Vezina, a Jennings and a was finalist for the Vez' like 4 times. What hardware does Turgeon have?

Players less deserving than Turgeon are in, so why not? Suddenly there are standards?

On the other hand, I also agree with this.

Turgeon was a far better playmaker than both of them, but in contrast was also softer than satin sheets, contrarily to Saku and Vinny.

I would say no. He was definitely not regarded as hall of famer material during the era in which he played. I think that counts for something.

It was clutch and grab as well… Sneaky Pete in today’s game? Lmfao! He would absolutely destroy in my opinion. I guess it’s all relative.

I don't think that affected his career trajectory. 1993 was a weird year for a lot of players and tons of guys hit levels they'd never even come close to again.

I mean Joe Juneau dropped 102 points as a rookie.

Turgeon's post 93 career is very much in line with what most would have expected. He didn't really begin to fall off until he joined the Stars following his age 31 season.

The quickness of his drop-off was unexpected given he was a reliable ppg guy going into that, but it was also 8 years removed from the Dale Hunter incident.

2 seasons in the top ten for points…Giid for a long time but…

Borderline but I don’t think so. Not dominant enough. Not great in the playoffs… can’t help but think of the terrible cheap shot on him. That may have been a factor. But at the end of the day I don’t think he should be in.

That said, there are definitely far less deserving players. Neely, Federko come to mind.
