Poland has been awarded the Division IA 2015 World Championships. This was to be originally played in Ukraine. I feel if this was FIFA they would have still kept it in Ukraine. Smart move by IIHF and the Ukraine hockey federation to move the tournament amid all the political turmoil.

It wasn't "just" slated to be in Ukraine, but also Donetsk. The various sports teams in Donetsk are playing elsewhere right now even in the domestic leagues. Their KHL team is even sitting out the season, while the football clubs are playing in Lviv. So a total no-brainer.

FIFA would keep a tournament in Donetsk? That's just not based in reality. The Donbass stadium is half in ruins, how would fifa stage an event in a cratered stadium?
