From what I remember Kapica had a rift with the last NT coach, Kalaber took over in 2020 and I think gave him a chance, Kapica got called up to the 35 man Polish roster at start of camp for this year's WC, but he had injury issues all season so probably wasn't physically ready.

i predict our first (and maybe the only one) blowout, something like 9-1 with multiple goals from USA middle six. I hope our guys just focus on a game against KAZ

yeah that's the issue. what's the point in bringing A++++ game vs USA when its obvious we'll lose, and then shat the bed in games (mostly due to lack of energy) that actually matters for us like vs France or soon Kaz

Which resembles their pool A games from late 70 - early/mid 80-s. They did beat Soviet Union, Czechoslovakia twice in those years, only to lose key game against West or East Germany and get relegated to the pool B.
Not that they will beat one of the big teams at this WC, but you get a picture...

Poland had a very nice goal disallowed for offsides. USA playing at 50% clearly, they'll turn it on when they have to.
