I am going to go out on a limb and address the elephant in the room. For those of you that feel it may be a jinx, I am sorry but after the win against the Bruins I believe in my heart this team is making the playoffs, it is just a matter of seeding.

Now the question is:

Without having to buy into a playoff push plan, seasons ticket plan, etc. how can I or any of us secure playoff tickets? Since it is a rare occurrence, what would be the process for getting playoff tickets for non season ticket holding customers?

I have a feeling the tickets are going to be blazing hot to get.

Any and all suggestions, comments welcome.

Have you and whoever you want to go with be online wherever they release the single game tickets( Ticketmaster?) and all try to buy the tickets at the exact time they're released.

So if the tickets are available at 10am May 1st, be online F5ing like woah and buy the best tickets available for you and your buddy (or 2 or 3, however many). If you don't get them, hope your friend does (they should be doing the exact same thing). If all of you manage to buy 3 or 4 tickets, put the extras up on stubhub or whatever and make a few pennies.

(Can anyone tell I go to a lot of rock concerts?)

It would be as simple as waiting for the tickets to go on sale to the general public. you can't secure anything.

Which, for the Islanders, is actually a good thing. I have a Friday plan for the Yankees basically to guarantee myself playoff tickets. There are a ton of season ticket holders which makes playoff tickets to the general public hard to get (last year not included).

The Isles have a season ticket base of what? 5-6,000? That is going to leave a ton of tickets available once they go on sale. Just make sure you are at your computer right when they go on sale. It's just a good thing that people will be fighting over 10,000 tickets instead of 2,000.

Any idea on what the prices will look like either from the team or stubhub? Does anyone recall what they paid back in '07??

I got my ticket bill in the mail for this year. I paid
$589 for 1st two rounds and my seats are section 309 row E I think it's like a 15-20% increase per round my ticket rep said when I called him and also parking is $20 a game....unreal

2007 was like... 20 years ago. :sarcasm:

Stubhub right now is around $100. I will gladly pay that... and more. But I HOPE prices don't get too crazy.

I'm wondering if Saturday's games a good measuring stick for prices... I know it has the Rangers affect but we're also talking about playoffs.

I don't want to buy them from stub hub until the playoffs are set.

I paid 70$ a seat in the 2007 playoffs.
was sitting row K somewere in the 300 Level. Not center ice.
The tickets for the game sat are most likely alot higher in cost than the playoffs will be

I remember in 07, 300's corners and ends were 60, blueline to blueline was 70, back rows were somewhere around 40. So figure somewhere around there with an increase per round if we're fortunate enough.
