Bunting Matthews Marner
Mikheyev JT Kase
Kerfoot Blackwell Nylander
Engvall Kampf Simmonds/Spezza

Rielly - Lyubushkin
Muzzin - Brodie
Giordano - Liljegren

He is playing better without Tavares thats all.
Tavares over payed, too slow , does nothing looks invisable night in and night out. does not have pace to play and make an impact in todays fast paced NHL playoffs , gets heavy minutes plus power play time with most of his point coming from power play. Gets pushed around all over the ice. Step up Johnny?

Over the last five games, Nylander is getting more and more ice time, while Tavares is getting less. In the three games where Tavares has more than Nylander, he's been a - , while in the two where he's had less, he's a +.

For Nylander, I think it's not adding a leash, but removing an anchor.
JT is an anchor lmao

Really want to see Keefe try this before the end of the season if possible:

Bunting - Matthews - Marner
Kase - Tavares - Blackwell
Robertson - Kerfoot - Nylander
Mikheyev - Kampf - Engvall

Rielly - Brodie
Giordano - Liljegren
Sandin - Holl

Campbell

L1: We know how well this works
L2: I think JT is dangerous enough that teams couldn't sleep on this, and he does well with diggers. This would be a line that really plays down low in the ozone.
L3: Kerfoot/Nylander are dynamite together, Robertson adds a shooter a la Galchenyuk
L4: Super strong defensively

This also really makes me wish we had one more top six winger i.e. Hyman or even just a Kapanen/Johnsson/Kessel/Knies, because one of them in the Blackwell slot would be so nice

Robertson wont get a shot with Dubass and Keefe but he should!

We need 3 productive lines and a checking line .. we need 6D who can all skate to play Tampa .. we need a tender who will make all da normal everyday saves .. we need to play a grinding game using our skill for 60 minutes .. I think it can all be done but it will require some coaching in best interests of da team .. given likely match up against Vasi, Hedman, McD, Sergey and Cernal it will require patience each and every game to grind for 60 minutes with no let ups or stupid plays .. we have to play for a 0-0 game .. this is worst possible matchup for us but it is what it is

Wow, so it looks like Kase might be ready for the playoffs. If that's the case, we gotta go:

Bunting-Matthews-Marner
Mikheyev-JT-Kase
Engvall-Kerfoot-Nylander
Blackwell-Kampf-Simmonds/Spezza

I'd probably go Simmonds over Spezza for Game 1 just to set the tone and then adjust from there.

OK so this is Nick's first true look imo. I.e. After starting to look legit dominant in the AHL for a decent stretch.

This is the first time I'll start to watch him with some actual expectations.

Bunting --- Matthews --- Marner
Mikheyev --- Tavares --- Engvall
Robertson - Kerfoot -- Nylander
Blackwell --- Kampf --- Kase

Don't mind the lineup save Mikheyev should be (at least) on the third line with Kerfoot and Nylander. Speed to burn.

Don't disagree, just of the opinion that we should really try and keep the shutdown line together, and I thought Kerfoot could use another shooter.

Kase passed his tests yesterday so he will likely play either tonight or Friday (I would guess tonight) .. Muzzy will also get back in tonight or Friday
Sandin gets a shot on Friday night I think

As I stated in todays GDT I'd prefer the 4th line to consist of Clifford and Simmonds centred by Blackwell. I hope they have a good showing tonight, but I like the energy and forecheck they bring (not to mention some protection come playoffs if some cross the line).
spezza wont miss a game.

What the playoff roster should be,

Bunting-Matthews-Marner
Mikheyev-Tavares-Nylander
Kerfoot-Kampf-Engvall
Robertson-Spezza-Blackwell

Rielly-Lyubushkin
Giordano-Liljegren
Muzzin/Sandin-Brodie

Campbell
Kallegren
