Hey Ranger fans. Been to four games at the Garden this season but I watch most of them on TV. I'm currently using FuboTV to catch the games with Sam and Joe on MSG. I also have the Disney/ESPN/Hulu bundle to get out of market games. Currently, I just don't get the TNT games.

Here's my question: If I switch from Fubo TV to Hulu Live, will I be able to watch the first round of Ranger games on Hulu Live or will it be blacked out? I know Sam mentioned we can watch the first round on MSG but will TNT/ESPN+/ABC carry the games and not black them out here in Jersey (where Rangers/Islanders/Devils get blacked out in the regular season)?

If I switch in the days ahead I won't have to pay for a month of both providers, so I appreciate your help. Thanks.

As long as I've been watching the Rangers. the first round is on MSG and nowhere else, unless you're out of market.
Yup. Thanks. But I'm thinking this year's "new deal" could be different. Sam didn't say, "MSG exclusive", he said, "you can watch all of the first round Ranger games here on MSG." I've been searching and can't get an answer for certain.

I believe it is MSG first round and some combination of Disney channels (ESPN and ABC) and Warner channels (TNT and TBS) beyond.

I currently use Fubo. Fubo does not have the Warner channels. Fubo also doesn’t have WPIX so I’m missing a bunch of Mets games. I’m probably going to make the switch back to Verizon Fios to cover everything. But you have to buy up to Fios’s highest plan to get SNY, which is annoying.

It stinks that Fubo doesn't have TNT or WPIX. Now that the Mets are looking good it's a bummer missing the odd game because it's not on SNY. Most importantly, it was a drag missing the TNT Ranger games this season. I attended the Toronto game where Reavo had two goals, so I didn't miss that one. The others I watch the nine-minute NHL game recap the next day.

I'm going to make the jump to Hulu Live for the summer, I just don't want to pull the trigger too early and miss any Ranger games if MSG has the first-round exclusive. I may end up paying for both FUBO and Hulu Live for the month of May, but I'd rather not.

Always been on NBC for me in Vancouver IIRC?
In Canada we get all the playoff games in the NHL on basic cable. So I wonder how it’ll work as I have NHL Center Ice now (so I get to choose which broadcast most times), but when games are available locally then the NHL Center Ice broadcasts are blacked out.

MSG has the rights to all games in round 1, but not exclusive rights. ESPN will still have games to choose from and of course the broadcast of our opponent as well.

The only thing I am not sure of, is whether ESPN just piggybacks off the MSG feed or if they have their own broadcast crew at the game.

I'm going to be in Michigan from May 10-14th. I have MSG at home, I should be able to access MSG from my computer right?

ESPN I have to imagine will have their own crew. NBC would only piggyback off local or Canadian crews for west coast/western Canada games that they didn't think bothering to send a crew would be worth it.

I also believe that MSG will have exclusivity in the area and that both MSG and ESPN won't be available in the NYC metro area. I know for the NBA you could watch Nets games on either (YES or TNT/ESPN) but the NHL in the past has blacked out the national broadcast so MSG was the only station with it locally.

Im in your boat with Fubo. I think if the rangers games go on tbs/tnt i will order Sling TV for the month which is like $35. Still cheaper than verizon. Still no WPIX though, which does suck.

Though i believe this year is an ABC year for conference finals and stanley cup. Next year is TBS/TNT.

I guess I'll opt out of Fubo TV. Mine renews at month end. If I can't find the first playoff game on Hulu Live/TNT/TBS/ABC/ESPN/ESPN+, then Fubo will get my business for another month. That's the nice thing about streaming. It's month-to-month and you can activate it in minutes. The suspense is killing me. I'm betting on no blackout, like the NBA, because it's a new NHL TV contract this year. We'll see. I'll miss Sam and Joe but Biz is a riot.

Use the SNY app and sign in with your tv provider. They carry the WPIX games as well.

Okay Ranger fans, I just found my answer. There's no blackout in the playoffs: NHL Playoff Stream Schedule

From the article:

How Will the 2022 Stanley Cup Playoff Coverage Breakdown By Network?

Starting on May 2, ESPN/ESPN2 will air their coverage of the first two rounds of the NHL Playoffs. Turner’s coverage of the 2022 Stanley Cup Playoffs, won’t debut until May 5. This means that for the first five nights of the playoff schedule, all games will either be only ESPN or Turner networks, depending on the given night.

During the first weekend of the Stanley Cup Playoffs, ESPN will air an early 12:30 p.m. game, while TNT/TBS will carry the rest of the coverage.

Games will also air on your local regional sports network (RSN), but — unlike during the regular season — customers in a team’s local market will be able to choose between either the local or national telecast without blackout restrictions.

So this means I can drop Fubo TV when the regular season is over, pick up Hulu Live to begin May, and still catch all of the Ranger and Mets games (even the Met games on WPIX). I just won't have Joe and Sam on MSG for the first round.

Seems crazy to spend the value of one playoff ticket at MSG to keep FuboTV along with my newly acquired Hulu Live TV subscription just to get the MSG broadcast of the games.

If I drop Fubo and lose Sam (bummer), I can watch the first four games on Hulu, for sure.. But then I miss "The King", so heavily promoted as the extra analyst on MSG. Nice guy. Handsome too, if that's your thing. Great goalie. Maybe if he was Richter I'd sign on for both Fubo And Hulu. I like cups. Bring it Rangers... See you on National TV... Hulu here I come... Bring it Biz...

From a national perspective ESPN will have their top announce team of Sean McDonough, Ray Ferraro, and Emily Kaplan on games 1 and 4 of the series. Games 2 and 3 will be on TNT. Announcers not provided yet.

Nhl66 dot ir all games free no downloads...stream free or stream east dot live. Your very welcome all.

ESPN will take the home teams' coverage and use their own announcers/graphics for RD1?

It makes zero sense to have a full crew there when that can all be done w a clean feed from those teams along w talent/graphics,music etc in Bristol.

I Think if you live in market you can watch local (MSG in this case) or ESPN for Rd1 and that's why MSG has been over-promoting the fact that "we'll be covering EVERY game of Rd1"

They mention it like every few mins and have included "Henrik in studio" to sway any fan that might go to ESPN

Probably Kenny doing the TNT games, with Eddie, but I could be wrong.
