Seeing how this team finally did what seemed to be the impossible i have a question for you Islander fans.

what team would you prefer your team faces in the 1st round.

I personally Think we would match up best VS MTL or the leafs.
With that being sad though i have No real preference as to who we play.
Be careful what you wish for

We can't face the Leafs in the 1st round. Even if they move up to 4th, there's no way we can catch Montreal/Boston who would finish 5th.

We can however finish 5th & face Montreal or Boston.

But it's looking like it will be either the Caps or the Bruins. and in that scenario, give me the Caps. Don't care if Ovenchicken has found his game. Isles can beat them. It would be like the 94 playoffs all over again vs the Bruins though. total domination.

Don't want anything to do with Pittsburgh unless we make the ECF so hoping for 6th or 7th. I would prefer Montreal, but as one poster mentioned be careful what you wish for. I think they are the least likely for us to play anyway out of them Boston and the Caps. So the choice is between a hot Caps team that we should have a chance to get or a potentially tired Boston team (with makeups) that we shouldn't. Personally I will hope for the Caps, assuming that even if Boston has a down game they will find their legs and get it rolling within a game or two.

I DID not SAY we can face them. ALL i sad is we would match up WELL vs them

unless the Canadiens pick it up again and finish 2nd over the Bruins I'm really pulling for the Isles finish 6th and playing Washington

yes that is how i would think it would go.
I think VS Boston over a 7 game Series we would get a beat down.
to the point were i would say Maybe boston in 4 or 5 =(
Vs the caps we might have a chance of taking them in 6 or 7

Anyone but Pittsburgh and preferably not Boston, but I would take Boston over Pittsburgh

Other than Pittsburgh I really don't care. Boston I thought we outplayed them in all three games. DP blew us the first one, Rask stole the second and we took the third decisively, even if the scoreboard didn't say so.

But I don't think those two are our options. Gimme either the Habs or Leafs. I'm trying to respect Washington for their streak but I loved the way we played them this year.

I'm with the be careful what you wish for argument. I feel we can beat any team with the way we are playing and that includes Pittsburgh. You don't go in at staring at awe of your opponent. You go in and beat them!!

The Kings didn't waste time, they knew what needed to be done and they did it. You think the NYR team cares about finishing 8th?? They have a solid pro squad and I bet you Pittsburgh would rather face Winnepeg then the Rangers.
