Players missing after substituting team in franchise

Does anyone know where I can find players that were originally on a team I substituted for in franchise mode?

I replaced Arizona with a team and only a few players appear still (Chychrun, Strome, Crouse, and a couple others). I cannot find players like Domi, Doan, OEL, etc. Checked FA and other teams as well.

Like Dabeast said, they're gone.
Save an alternate roster for your Franchise mode with those would-be deleted players in free agency. You can maintain the players rights to a certain team when you move them to the free agent pool or AHL. You can also directly set them in edit player. Set the rights to the team you're swapping out.

I'm not sure how the junior player assignments work, but the best way to substitute a team is to fix your rosters before you start the franchise, and THEN, go into your created team and edit the rosters to exactly match the roster of the team you are replacing.

I know the AHL team is assigned to you, so you have those players for certain, but again I'm not sure about the junior players, but I'm fairly certain they re-assign to your new team as well.

Pretty sure the team that is swapped in is automatically given all the player rights of the team swapped out.

Edit: what I usually do is move the players I feel worth keeping down to the AHL affiliate of the team that'll be swapped out (and get rid of the useless plugs in the AHL if there's no room on the team).

That way when you start the GM mode you can just call those players up.
