Hmm, I guess "General" Markov was too obvious to put up in the list. 
Carey "The impenetrable Wall" Price has been solid so far. Not giving any easy goals.
Alexei "the debt collector" Emelin has been, well, just dominant. He's constantly giving big checks and playing defensively sound.

Bourque has been impressive despite not scoring. He's creating lots of stuff.
Bottom six: All six of them have been playing well, spending time in the opponents' zone, tiring their Ds, chiping in offensively, fighting, etc. Some people criticized ArmDog but I think he's been decent and he had some good shifts with White and Moen.
Good ole Frankie Bouillon: Nothing flashy but he's been steady, covers mistakes by his terrible partners (Kaberle and Weber) and keeps his opponents honest with some good body checks. He's no star but he's all heart, can't hate the dude, even when he takes bad decisions in the offensive zone.

Brian "brought in when the habs decided they had to be all relatively small guys with vaguely latin last names" Gionta - Last season was rough for Brian, but seeing him going out there and scoring goals in the first few games reminds me of those exciting years where the habs made the third round and then took Boston to 7.
Brandon "something about toughness or a culture change or something" Prust - hard not to like, reminds me a bit of Chris Neil in that he seems to really give it his all and it elevates the play of those around him.
Rene "Timed his quality of play to make Gauthier look bad which I approve of" Bourque - I had literally no faith in him after last season, but he's working hard and even if he doesn't score much he's making himself useful and gelling with his linemates.
Raphael "I was watching the worlds the year before he signed and said to someone 'Switzerland is pretty competent' and now claims to have known Diaz would be good all along based on that alone.' Diaz - really stepping it up, showing a lot of potential that he only hinted at last season.
Andre "I don't know why he's called the General but I bet he has more leadership experience than Josh Gorges who never captained anything in his life" Markov - This guy's amazing. I never saw him play before he was injured but I can't imagine how wicked the team must have been with him.

And sorry for the homer rant and I'm sure some people will claim I'm wrong but Plekanec needs more love around here. He's only been so-so offensively so far but he's eating through extremely difficult minutes and is one of the best penalty killers in the league. He played 24 minutes tonight FFS, and even on a poor faceoff day he won a clutch one at the end there. Therrien has only relied on Markov more than Plekanec so far.
I nearly included him and I'm not sure why I didn't. He's playing like he used to before the season from hell. Really dig Plekanec.
His line has been a nightmare to play against in every day, and while Gionta and Bourque have been a major part of that, so has Plekanec, who usually starts their frantic rushes - along with Markov.
He's really good, as is Gionta, Price, Markov. I wanted to give credit to players that get a bit less appreciation but have been doing well. But there's no doubt they have been key players.
It's fun though this year (until now). It's really team victories, with lots of players playing key roles.
Well that's what I've been loving - so far, it's been team victories. Obviously Markov stands alone but after that most of the team has been adding their own element, beats last year when the few games that weren't garbage usually required one or two guys to carry us.

Bourque was decent in his first two games as a hab last year. Then he completely fell off the wagon, and made bonehead play after bonehead play. He seems to be skating a bit better than I remember from last season.
The trick with him is to keep him interested all year.
