When I read this story, the first thought -- and I'm not kidding -- was Panarin being on Dancing With The Stars after his hockey career.

Step 2) Hire a REAL financial advisor. Your Saskatchewan high school buddy Pete, is not a real financial advisor.

This is where someone like a Carey Price or Ken Daneyko could really help, and a tale of someone like Walt Poddubny as well.

For the younger fans who only know post-lockout 04-05 or 94, Walt was a high pick for Toronto who wasn't panning out, got traded to the Rangers in the summer of 1986 for Mike Allison (one of the only great Esposito moves) and flourished for two years on the Rangers. He didn't make much money, his knees were shot, and he ended up having substance abuse issues and living with his sister when he had a heart attack. This was a dude who was literally the Rangers first line center and ended up in obscurity post playing career.
