I almost feel like this isn't thread worthy, but not sure where to put it. I'm thinking by May 5th, round 2 would be on the way and that means I think all games will be on the NBC channels. If the Rangers are fortunate enough to still be alive, do you guys think all of the games will be on TV in any hotel room? Do most have NBCSN? I really want to go on vacation, but I also would hate to miss the Rangers in the playoffs. Since I started watching I've only missed 2 Ranger playoff games and they both came last year against Boston when the Rangers were already down 3-0. Should I bring a laptop for a stream or will I be able to find the Rangers? I want to go to California, btw.

I went to Cali when the Rangers played the Devils in the ECF. All the games were on NBC/NBCS there. I stayed with a friend though, so their cable may be different.

Call ahead to see if they have the channel.

Also, I go to most home games, so I planned to cut my trip short if there was a Game 7 at the Garden. However, we all know how it ended and effectively ruined my trip anyway.

Thanks, that's good advice. NBCSN is national but I know that it's not on basic cable. I wonder if a hotel has more than basic cable if I'm staying at a cheaper one.

Every game should be on TV unless they don't have NBCSN, NHLN, or CNBC.

Right, I figure CNBC should be on at every hotel and NHLN isn't necessary after the first round. ButI wonder if hotels have NBCSN. I mean, it's not like it's still versus. It's a legit channel.

Most hotels I've ever stayed at, and even 4* ones didn't have NBCSN. Most will have your standard channels, and that isn't considered standard, I don't believe. All your problems could obviously be solved if you were to just bring your laptop, so it's not a big deal. Just remember there is a 3 hour time difference though.

Yeah, I just hate streaming games. They freeze all the time and are a huge pain in the ass.

Well if it's on NBCSP they will almost certainly have the channel and you can just ask them to put it on a TV there.

How on earth can you go on a vacation in the middle of the playoffs?

Not even a tornado could separate me from my TV.

Easy solution, wait until July ;)

You'll find a sports bar. I've watched the Rangers in several sports bars, sometimes you just need to ask the bartender and its rarely a problem, if its not too packed. I watched the Boston series last year in Portland, Ore. and Lake Tahoe. In San Francisco, there is a NY sports bar called Ace's that would definitely show Rangers playoff games too. Tons of options.

If you don't want to pay for GCL or HS( where you shouldn't have any freezing), pm me before you go and I'll hook you up with a private stream server with zero freeze issues.

Just call ahead to the hotel and make sure their guest wifi has a high bw.

Thanks. Much appreciated. I usually watch a stream only when I'm at my friend's house who doesn't have cable and it freezes a lot and we have to restart it. I haven't planned the trip yet so everything may fall through.

I do the same thing every year. We plan an annual trip to Biloxi to go fishing and go to the casinos. Every game is on NBC and will be televised. Ive watched many playoff games over the past few years at the bar of the Beau Rivage or Hard Rock. Every TV has NBC, NBC Sports and CNBC. Some do not have MSNBC (although I can only recall one hockey game being broadcast on there, it does happen).

Are you sure that it's not a casino specific thing for NBCSN? Beau Rivage and Hard Rock are probably higher end than standard hotels? I do remember in AC seeing game 1 of Flyers-Hawks 4 years ago, but that might have been NBC.

Yep. I travel extensively through the Southeast. I have yet to find a hotel without those 3 on it. I have always watched NBC sports when the Rangers were on and then Kudlow at night on CNBC (every hotel that I have been to between Virginia, NC & Georgia has had them). NBC is a standard channel. These aren't 5 star hotels either. We are talking about Holiday/Quality Inns.

Cool, thanks, that makes me feel better!

BTW, you ever gamble at the Grand Biloxi? I used to work with casinos. Biloxi and Tunica are two of the more casino heavy areas in the country.

I went 2 years ago to Bermuda (saw all the playoff games)

and last year to Turks and Caicos (saw all the playoff games)
