Hey guys,

Are the Rangers the only team to have the Stanley Cup patch on the shoulder, instead of the chest? I remember us having the patch on the left shoulder in 1994 as well. Is it because of the "Rangers" lettering on the front?

As far as I know, yes. It's because on the left breast would be the "R" lettering of RANGERS and on the right breast would be the Captaincy/Alt Cap. patches. So they just decided to put them on the shoulder. I believe the Liberty jerseys were the only jerseys to have commemorative patches on the crest area.

Maybe, or maybe it's just a tradition (it's in the same place as last time).

They do it because one side of the chest has to be free for the "C"and "A"'s, while the other side has the Rangers lettering on it.

The USA Olympic team had a related issue, when they ruined the otherwise awesome 1960 throwback jerseys by putting a patch on the chest that awkwardly displaced the "C"and "A"'s to the side: (far right)

Has anyone stitched or ironed on the SCF patch on their jersey?

I will only put the patch on my Lundqvist jersey if we win the cup. I won't walk around with a SCF jersey for being 1st loser if we don't.

Well I was thinking of sewing it on myself very carefully, and if we don't win it (Please don't let that happen), I'd unstitch it and not have the reminder next season.

Those who have the Stanley Cup Final patch, is it fully embroidered or is it some kind of high quality screened material glued on a patch? Do they also have a hard plastic backing that you need to melt off first before adhering to the jersey? Thank you!

I agree, I was only buying that white jersey for the fact it was 63 bucks, patch or not. Been saying for 5 yrs if they win the cup I will buy a hank with cup champions patch

The only time I can think of where the Rangers had a patch above the "R" is when they had those NHL2000 patches. But those were small enough to fit in that space.

They had the. NHL 75th patch on the side opposite the R where the captains aptches go.

Those were nice jerseys.

Messier's looked a little busy because his "C" was encroaching on the the 75 Patch. Good thing that font didn't have the drop shadow, or it would have looked even more busy.

idk maybe its a little OCD but they totally should have put a patch on the other side too... I don't like its placement

If you were OCD you would know thats the same shoulder/placement as the 94' patch.

It's the perfect place for it. :handclap:

Here are some pictures I just took of the patch.

I bought the patch at the NHL store on 47th Street.

There are no directions or anything stating that it's an iron patch. It does look like there is a hard plastic backing that can be melted and "glued" on to a jersey. I plan on sewing it to my jersey.
