Not McD's best night... first ices the puck, and then gift wraps it to Kessel for the overtime winner..

Ah well... the team was quite good today i thought, hope they bring that with them and build on it.

How in ****'s name do you give out assists on that goal???

Assists would be literally illegal. It's a hand pass.
It actually makes no sense. By rule, when there is a hand pass the opposing team must play the puck (as in, can't just deflect off the opposing player's back) before your team is allowed to play the puck again. In contrast, an assist can only be awarded to the last 2 (at most) players on the scoring player's team that played the puck prior to the goal, with no one from the opposing team playing the puck in between [so as to interrupt possession].

The two definitions conflict with each other. It would have to either be no hand pass or no assist, it cannot be both with how the rules are written.
