0 interest from montreal.. That contract is not good for a rebuilding team.
Deal makes no sense for pens either
Good thing your not a GM ..

Letang is twice the player of Anderson.
Letang would be great with the youngster comming up not Anderson, so yes he fits the rebuild

How do you calculate the difference bewteen 5.5 and 6.1 mil per? Is it different than the rest of the world?

Yes and...you don't have a cohesive argument.

Appears you are confusing cap hits with real dollars. They aren't the same

This kind of confusion is consistent with your other comments.

I can see that I'm not able to help clarify your lack of understanding. Enjoy the day.

he certainly is and he's being paid 6.1 million till he's 40.
That's great for a rebuild - on Earth 2 - where most of your
alternate reality hockey takes materialize

Speaking of confused...

...even if you had made an argument based on cash vs. cap hit - which you didn't - Letang makes less in actual cash in each of the next 3 years.

Anderson 7mil, 5mil, 3.5mil

vs.

Letang 6.2mil, 4.8 mil, 1mil

Couldn't stop at just a bad take, eh?

Being wrong is one thing, your posts suffer from worse than that. This kind of silly posting is what pulls this site down.

Your numbers are wrong according to this site:

Letang has 3 years, plus rest of this one.

Anderson has 2 + this one.

You posted 3 #'s for each.

Math is hard for you as well I guess.

Jeez your posts just go from bad to worse...

While Letang can contribute as a RHD, he will also block Mailioux for a few years.

This only works if the Habs get high value for Matheson, replace him with Letang and rebalance Guhle to the left side. Then Mailman has a path to learn behind Letang.

Hutson and Letang will be DEADLY combo. FAR better the Matheson/Guhle.

Then Guhle goes left partnered with Mailman.

This only works for Montreal on a multi move, multi team trade OR Matheson for Letang and a second. Why the second? Because it will be easier and more valuable for the Pens. Right now, the Pens get a plate of poutine and a 3rd if Letang ONLY wants to go home and play for the Habs.

Or they can just keep Letang and not trade a 2nd to get Matheson for him?

Crazy thought.

Arguing about which side this trade makes less sense for is weird. Letang has a bad deal that Montreal wouldn’t want and the Penguins have no incentive to move him if they’re not getting value for him. Why not just leave it at that?

IF Letang wants to stay. IF he wants to be trsded for his hometown the Habs wont offer much for him. MAYBE a second...or less.

If Pens trade for Math and a second, they will get more then a second for Matheson. Probably a first and s second.

The Habs don't have to do ANYTHING and Letang can turn down EVERY trade.

It is what it is....

If Letang wants to leave but it would cost the Penguins assets to trade him, then they’d tell him tough shit and deal with it.

They’re not trading picks anymore in any sort of Letang trade.

Anderson is actually playing ok hockey this year, overpaid by $2MM but we need size more than we need cap space. Now if Letang wants out from Pitts and only waiving for Montreal then we can get a veteran RHD that allows us to trade Savard and Matheson getting our D-pairs playing their correct sides. Send us Letang 50% retained and we will send you a 3td, basically same deal Sharks got for Burns
