POJ replacement for a 2/3LD spot. Hopefully he finds his game a bit better here. 1 year so whatever.

He was the Bruins whipping boy all season but he is very good at recoveries and doesn’t really hurt you that much despite what other fans say.

Don't hate it, don't like it, he's just whatever, at least he isnt Chad Ruhwedel so he at least comes in with that going for him.

Pens are not making playoffs so they should be fine with Matt.

Very thankful that I no longer have to watch him play in a Bruins uniform.

He was the Bruins whipping boy all season but he is very good at recoveries and doesn’t really hurt you that much despite what other fans say.

There is a reason he's a healthy scratch come playoff time.

Seems fine for a bottom pair guy. No risk at all with the term, can easily dump him if he sucks.

Some days you’ll wonder how he’s making just 2.75

Then the next night you’ll wonder how he’s still playing in the NHL

He’s just as soft as they come, and it very much negatively impacts the rest of his game

Excellent puck mover. Good at using his feet in center ice to break up plays before they start. Bad defender. Bruins didn’t have very good forwards this year and too often when he got it up to them it came right on back and he had to defend. He has bad +\- numbers in the playoffs, and some think the added physicality made him a worse player and some think it was luck. Probably both. But what is hard to avoid is that he would get dinged up a lot once the hitting got heavy.

A thousand miles from nowhere
Went from being BU captain, then an elite transition D and McAvoys partner on the first pair, 2nd in the NHL in +/-, to recently someone who couldn't even make the lineup over rookies breaking in. Depending on which Grz the Penguins get will determine things.

Good puck mover, but think he can be outmuscled in the playoffs when the game moves to the trenches. He is small and skilled so not suprised Dubas likes him.

Despite what everyone says, he’s a good D man.

Hes only really bad in a playoff situation when things are amped up physically.
