Sorry for invading your board , but was looking for some perspective on Turgeon.

I recall Turgeon in Montreal has producing at a good rate yet still leaving no impression at all on the fanbase , how did you guys who actually watched him play remember him?

thanks

I was just a kid when Turgeon was a Sabre and was crushed when he was traded. I still think it was a mistake to trade him, he was part of a good bunch including Mogilny and Ray Sheppard that were just fun to watch. I remember he was overly hyped as a rookie with comparisons to Gretzky, but in that pre-internet age, there just wasn't alot of news about him. His personality didn't match his talent I guess, or maybe it was playing in the same era as Mario and Gretzky. Maybe because he came in to replace Perrault.

Great pro career.

I still would have selected Shanahan or Sakic over him. Hall of Fame careers here (wait Shanahan).

My all-time favorite sabre. I remember when the bus driver told me that we traded him, I immediately started crying. I bet the bus driver didn't see that reaction coming.
