Which is 5 days. Im guessing Moore's concussion will extend beyond that, so it really is Moore's health that will keep Engvall up

COrrect. Essentially when Johnsson and Moore are both ready to come back...Engvall decision will come.

But regardless, I find the chance of Engvall going down extremely low. He a Keefe favorite and has balled out.

No way Dubas is sending him down. He'll make another decision with the roster. I'm gonna assume its Gauthier who gets boot somehow or another. Either traded/waived

They still don't have enough cap space, even if they waive Gauthier. For them to keep him, they would need to waive both Gauthier and Timashov (then run a 20 man roster)

Moore sounds like he’s going to be out a while and if there’s a positive it’s that we can get another look at a few before TDL

Hmm. Marincin + Gauthier being sent down still wont give us enough cap-space?

They're only able to have Marincin up right now because Johnsson is on the LTIR. When everyone's healthy they would need to send down both Timashov and Goat

What I'm saying is that size or weight isn't why Mikheyev is better than Johnsson at winning board battles and contesting loose pucks.

That size and reach can’t be discounted unless you have some kind of anti size bias.

Engvall was gonna stay even if Moore came back healthy.

The decision was going to loom when Johnsson was ready to come back.

When the team is fully healthy flip a coin between Moore and Engval as far as contributions. Both pretty even in value to the team IMO.

Who have to pass through Waivers, both would be picked up.

Its a huge advantage and why its Engvall and not Bracco being used in that role and recalled from the AHL to replace AJ..

AJ might find himself on the 3rd line with Kerfoot and Kapanen when he returns as you have to think Keefe is loving the results and returns he is getting from Engvall and Mikheyev in the top 6 as powerforwards utilizing their size and strength to their advantages.

This kid is an absolute diamond in the rough.

That combination of speed and size is so rare. He actually looks a lot like a less polished Kreider. Engvall has to be forcing his way in to the Leafs' long-term plans with his PK ability and complementary style that gels well with any line.

I liked him a lot in front of the net too, he was surprisingly effective at digging pucks out after the initial save + scrum. I honestly can't think of a situation where he wouldn't be useful, he can play C/LW on any line, both PP and PK. Wouldn't be surprised if he'd make a good 6D in a pinch.

Not his best night tonight, in fact between the offensive zone penalty and his SHOCKING give away on the 2nd goal, probably his worst.

That said he's been great overall, he's going nowhere

As expected, looked like someone who has never played C in their life to begin the game.

Ended the game looking like he played C his whole career.

Dude is smart. Learns from his mistakes. That's why it's important not to always punish. Let them shake it off and try again.
