Guys pick your poison. Something has to give and the Leafs are stacked at wing. You want to win a cup? That defense needs some work. Ceci/Barrie and a winger, most likely Kappy or Johnsson. We still have Bracco, Korshkov and down the line Robertson. Trading Kappy might help wake up Nylander. The emergence of Engvall and Micheyhev(sp) has made them expendable. If I'm Keefe I'm keeping Engvall in the lineup.Size beats speed in this round.

Engvall and Mik are both a tier above Johnsson/Kap/Kerfoot.
Hope Dubas can wake up and trade for better D and grit..Christ just bring up Korshkov and Agostino.

Engvall has size AND speed, the perfect storm

Moore will take Engvall's spot on the PK. Moore has averaged more PK minutes this season

To the people wanting to trade Ceci, the Leafs really can't afford to do that. I don't know where to find the stats but somebody posted them a few weeks ago. The Leafs Penalty Killing % with Ceci on the ice is top 5 in the league, without him on the ice its bottom 5, but that has more to do with when he's not out there its Rielly and Rielly's terrible on the PK.

What site do you guys find this information on?

I would not trade Kappy over Johnsson. Kappy is more multi tooled and that speed is rare. Johnsson would be the one to move out

I was hopeful that Engvall could play in the NHL. He is definitely exceeding my expectations and looks like he can be a solid contributor on a really good team.

Trading Kappy last year would have been a sacrilege, this year he looks really pedestrian and interchangeable with any winger on the Marlies. I was really high on AJ last year too but he looks like a giant black hole without the puck and his lack of size is showing, some small guys play big, he plays small.

If you were going to judge Engvall, Kappy, AJ on this year alone, I'd be hard pressed to find a reason why AJ and Kappy played better than Engvall.

He might be the one to move out but he might not be the one other teams want. At league min, AJ is a steal of a player at $3.4 mil per year, based on his performance this year alone, he is grossly over paid.

Keefe clearly had trust in the young man. I don't see Engvall going down. Worst case he gets bumped to a 4th line role when fully healthy and GOAT and Timashov pay the price. Engvall-Spezza-Moore

Waivers will determine who goes down until the Cap situation is corrected.

I'd be hard pressed to chose between Kapanen and Engvall, I really like Engvall's game, but he has less than a year NHL experience, and we know 1st. year isn't always indicative of how subsequent years will go. Kapanen we know who he is.

I'd like to see Johnsson in Keefe's system before judging.

We know Engvall's cap hit is probably 225k too much to stay when Johnsson comes back so I can see Engvall being demoted, but it won't be performance based.

If a trade needs made im probably in a minority but I'd rather keep Kapanen than Johnsson. He's younger, faster, bigger, and 200k less (for a year less I know). I agree Engvall could be a cap casualty otherwise and be Marlies bound. Timashov making less than league minimum helps his case big time

Me 2 , I really liked his game last year, loved him what the Marlies, esp that playoff run, but this year he seems a step behind. He;s made so many mistakes in his own end. there is a reason why Matthews looks better defensivly the last few weeks and its not because he suddenly figured out how to play without the puck.

AJ is better suited as 3rd line energy, occasionial scorer type guy.

It's so frustrating to watch the waterbugs skating a million miles an hour buzzing around but don't have the size, weight or reach to beat a guy, but then with Mikheyev and Engvall you can see how they can use their length and speed to really cause disruptions to the opposition's point guys, start odd man rushes the other way.

Mikheyev is not even heavier than Johnsson, he's a grand total of 1 pound heavier than him according to NHL.com (how accurate NHL.com is who knows).

Just watch the games and you won’t need to look up statistics and outdated measurements and weights.

Engvall was gonna stay even if Moore came back healthy.

The decision was going to loom when Johnsson was ready to come back.

Which is 5 days. Im guessing Moore's concussion will extend beyond that, so it really is Moore's health that will keep Engvall up

What I'm saying is that size or weight isn't why Mikheyev is better than Johnsson at winning board battles and contesting loose pucks.
