I'd like Ziemmer, Rehkopf, and Molgaard from that group. And Felix Nilsson is still out there, too

I could see any of Heidt, Brinley, or Perron.

That said, I'd rather use as many of the remaining picks as needed to trade for a quality guy already in the NHL that fits the timeline.

The first round felt like painting your house taupe. Nothing wrong with it, but there better be something else still happening to complete the story. I'm not going to just wait another 4-5 years for a hundred picks to develop.

I really like Gavin Brindley. He's got that dawg in him. I hope we grab him.
Heidt could be intriguing. Also a mean motherf***er. He's got great vision.
I don't see us taking Cristall or Perron. Both seem like classic junior scorers who never translate to me.
Halttunen could be interesting if we want to lean into size a bit more. Right handed shot too. We also need more Finns/60.

Haltunnen would be a really interesting pick.
Big power forward with great offensive skill set and was projected to be a top half of the 1st round pick earlier in the draft cycle.

London Knights also own his CHL rights and it’s rumoured he was seen in London checking out the facilities during combine week. Send him to London for a couple years and see if the Hunters can sort out the parts of his game that are rough around the edges.

I’d also be here for Brindley, Fisker Molgaard, Gauthier, Cristall or Gibson

There are still a lot of talented players on the board. We addressed some needs in round 1, so Stevie Y has some room to play with these three picks. If he uses them, I’d love one or more of: Brindley, Haltunnen, Gauthier, and Lind. Doubting Heidt or OFM drop to us. Id also take a flyer on Wahlberg.

Would've been fine with Brindley at 17, doubt he makes it past CLB but he would be a great pick. Debrincat trade would be nice as well

Well a plethora of potentially good players left. Why not to take 3 BPA? Halttunen, Heidt and say Crystall. We gonna hit at least one star player here and this what we need.

This draft might decide our future for the next 10 years, why not to maximize the impact by utilizing all 3 choices.

There are ZERO players left in this draft that anybody could EXPECT to one day be a star player.

It's certainly POSSIBLE, and I'm fine with swinging for the fences. But hope is not a strategy - I will absolutely send some criticism Yzerman's way if he uses all the remaining picks and also fails to swing a significant trade this summer.

Halttunen, Brindley or Nilsson would be cool here in the 2nd as would Rehkopf, Molgaard, Nelson and Wahlberg. I would even take Cristall now that we are out of the 1st round.

Bold statement. Applying this logic there are zero players in any draft anyone may expect to become stars.

Arrrrrre you aware if day 2 is "streaming" anywhere? (in my best pirate voice.....). I thought NHL.com did it in the past but open to other "suggestions"

I expect a top 3 pick to be a star, maybe a top 5.

Since Detroit has none of those going forward, I expect them to trade for a player that either is a star or has a realistic chance of becoming one.

Yzerman admitted were still in the rebuild going for debrincat would be nonsensical. Hope we make the 3 picks but I can see us moving one back and possibly adding a 3rd . Right now hoping for

41 cristall
42 Wahlberg
43 nilsson
Bertucci in the 3rd and mukhanov 4th

Unfortunately I think cristall Wahlberg will be picked but I'd be happy with any of sawchyn nilsson kiiskinen Lardis perron Nelson bertucci in the 2nd

Didnt include brindley and halttunen cause I dont think they'll be there

Hopefully someone takes a goalie and makes someone else jump and take another as well. Would benefit us
