Where do the Rangers find physicality? Boyle, Poo, Dorsett,Stralman are gone. How do we compete along the walls? Teams may run us out of the rink.I thinkthe Rangers were hurt more than any other team in free agency

Need to acquire more players both for depth and physicality. If we go to war with this squad, we will be a major disappointment that will struggle to make the playoffs.

People are going to say it doesn't matter...but I 100% agree it is a big flaw of the current roster. Losing Boyle and Pouliot definitely weakened this dimension even further, and it's not like those two guys are even THAT physical.

The best teams can win in diverse ways. The Rangers have Henrik and a lot of skill in the top-9 which is going to carry them far. But to really get over the hump they need some more grit, without sacrificing their strengths. Aka not Tanner Glass. And yes this is easier said than done, but I do see it as a flaw.

Throughout the year, Rangers fans railed on Boyle, Pouliot and Dorsett. Now that they leave, how can they ever be replaced?

Wo is us.

Here's our boy to take care of that, and his boy...staying healthy :D

Stralman wasn't a frequent hitter. He would catch people if they weren't paying attention. Miller replaces Richards--there should be a lot more physical play from that. Glass had well over 200 hits last year in Pittsburgh. I expect it's an issue that the team can address in house if it needs to.

Because morons rail on them (although I did so on Dorse quite a bit) it doesn't mean their not valuable.

Boyle and Stralman were massive pieces of this team that have been significantly downgraded in Glass & D. Boyle.

Their net presence was already inconsistent as it was and losing Pouliot only compounds the problem. They need someone other than Kreider to set up screens/deflections.

Dan Boyle is a downgrade defensively, but an upgrade offensively.

Boyle is a very obviously superior player to Glass, not going to argue that.

Anyone that thinks that last year's team was a physical team is out to lunch. Even so...we went a long ways.

The thing with Boyle is he hit frequently but he never really pounded people. Some would get all over him for that but to me it would have been nice but it wasn't a big deal. Just his size in the corners or along the boards made him a lot of work for whoever was battling with him. We're going to miss that and we're going to miss the penalty killing--at least a bit.

Stralman really did not hit all that much. He caught people and he liked the hip check because he's stronger in the legs than the upper body. Those hits hurt but it's more like a good football tackle than running over the top of somebody.

Pouliot hit fairly frequently but he's never ever going to be close to leading the league in hits and one thing I'm definitely not going to miss is all the stupid penalties he took--he had way more than his fair share of those.

Dorsett had a lot of energy. He hits pretty hard for his size and fairly frequently. Definitely 4th line material though.

Again I think JT Miller is going to have to have a **** training camp not to make the team. He has size and is an aggressive player. He's a good skater. Glass had 247 hits last year as a 4th liner. You don't get 247 hits if you can't skate because as the saying goes and I think there's plenty of wisdom to this one--You can't hit what you can't catch. Would I rather have Brian Boyle than Tanner Glass?--**** yeah but I'm thinking Boyle wasn't coming back anyway because he wanted to be on a scoring line and I'm sorry that just wasn't going to happen. I don't think it's going to work out that way in Tampa Bay either.

Agreed. Boyle is absolutely out to lunch if he thinks he's getting a top 9 role with Stamkos-Filppula-Johnson blocking him.

Glass, hopefully the other top 9 forward that needs to be added after the RFAs sign, and Miller for a full season, hopefully add the more size we lacked.

Can't question their mental toughness after that incredible run they had. Outstanding mental toughness.

I'm more hoping the overall team speed doesn't drop at all.

Boyle can play wing. Also, I believe Stamkos played on Johnson's wing after St. Louis was traded.
