:flyersPhiladelphia acquires: F Vladislav Namestnikov

:jetsWinnipeg acquires: LW/C Noah Cates and LD Emil Andrae

The Flyers get a versatile forward in Namestnikov who is a good utility playmaker that can play anywhere in a teams lineup.

The Jets get an energetic, 2 way forward in Cates and a high IQ defensive prospect with and without the puck in Andrae who is also a smooth skater.

Cates doesn't seem like a good fit here. How about Foerster or Poehling?

Don’t see the fit

Cates would be a good option in Winnipeg’s bottom 6 that could switch off with Barron, Gustafsson or Kupari at center on 4C or play wing on 3rd line with Lowry as his center.

Andrae is a good prospect that would be AHL Manitoba’s 1LD and would be getting plenty of playing time with a chance to make the Jets in 2025-26 after another season of development with the Jets organization.

Namestnikov would be a good veteran 3rd line option with Poehling and young Michkov as his linemates.

It's not a bad trade proposal, in terms of the Jets getting players that have some familiarity with others, but I think the Jets want Namestnikov as an insurance centre this year for the top 6. He was Bowness's guy though, from familiarity. We'll see how Scott Arniel uses him. Maybe he will become available but I don't think he will to start the year.

Jets aren't lacking in bottom 6 guys or LHD

Names is a Swiss Army knife type who can play up the line up if need be

Value is probably right but I don't see the fit
Besides Morrissey, Samberg, Stanley and Heinola at the NHL level, there is only LHD Haydn Fleury, Dmitri Kuzmin and the recently drafted Alfons Freij in the Jets organization.

Fleury could likely end up on waivers, Kuzmin spent more time at the ECHL level then he did at the AHL level in his 1st pro season in North America and Freij is years away from making any kind of impact in the pros.

The Jets are kinda lacking in LHD depth at the moment so a smooth skating prospect that’s not too far from NHL readiness in Emil Andrae wouldn’t hurt in acquiring as he and Cates should be fair value in return for Namestnikov who has gained a little value himself since being acquired by the Jets.

We have Demelo and Pionk as the only RHD on the NHL roster. If we're dealing ANYONE that we don't have to (like Namestnikov), there would have to be a RHD prospect equivalent to the one you're offering in the deal

Why would the Jets trade off a swiss army knife that can play on any line in a pinch and do it with a smile on his face for a guy who would be pinned to the third or fourth line. The Jets have no need for another depth LD either so this change would only have an upside for Philly. Value is about right, but it's not something that will improve the Jets on the ice.

Not really a fit for the Jets IMO, reasonable offer but doesn't make sense for the Jets

This is something I could see the Flyers doing. Though take out Cates insert Brink as I think Cates is still a Torts favorite and do not see him being moved just yet.

Do the Flyers really want to move a Dman that prevented them from taking Zeev!!!

He does to the Flyers.
More than likely and cant argue that!!

However he only played 13.47 minutes a games last season. 4 minutes less than the prior. So maybe just maybe he is expendable ( he should be).

Also he makes 2.6 and is a RFA next summer. No way should he get a raise unless he replicates his rookie season.

Makes no sense at all for the flyers. Can get a namestnikov off waivers if they wanted
Namestnikov is a decent playmaker that would be good at dishing the puck to Michkov in the bottom 6 to start.

Opens up a spot for Lambert, Lucius or Barlow on Winnipeg’s roster with the waiver fodder that should be cleared up after training camp.

Hoping this is a troll.
