We’re halfway to greatness.Technically, we do have Mariota.
The words that come out of this man’s mouth at times are something.
Yeah I’m just saying Pederson & Sirianni are gonna end up two of the more successful head coaches in team history. You fired Pederson the first plausible chance you got while seemingly putting all the blame on him & now it appears it’s going to happen again with Sirianni.
I’m not defending the coaching job done this year but at the same time this roster isn’t nearly as good either but that discussion isn’t really being had nearly as much which probably isn’t by coincidence.
A certain someone used him as a meat shield in a moment that he really needed one. That and Lurie liked their Tuesday meetings with Doug where they could “tell him what to do” and when Doug started to say no they cast him aside.I can't recall a coach winning a Super Bowl and having as little organizational juice as Doug got. That will always be deeply weird to me. They gave him one year where he won another playoff game and then fought him tooth and nail on everything.
That's a huge issue. As soon as you have a good season your coaching staff is going to be poached, how many teams in the league are successful with a head coach that doesn't call plays on either side of the ball? It's got to be few and far betweenMaybe it's my own fault but one of the reasons I liked the Siranni hire was I thought he would be calling the offensive plays. That's a damn near requirement these days because after a season of any modicum of success, your play calling O-coordinator is getting poached, unless you have a Tom Moore type that has no aspirations of a HC job.

I wonder if those are still going on.
you can have Bowles lol

I'm still trying to get over the trade up.Anyone else becoming really concerned with Jordan Davis’ conditioning and his lack of pass rush ability? Dude has been invisible for about a month and half at this point.
At this point who hasn't been invisible -- for all the wrong reasons.Anyone else becoming really concerned with Jordan Davis’ conditioning and his lack of pass rush ability? Dude has been invisible for about a month and half at this point.

He seemingly didn’t get enough credit for those two seasons coming off the Super Bowl with a declining cast on offense. He did squeeze as much as he realistically could have until the wheels just fell off. One of his top pass catchers towards the end was Greg Ward for Christ sakes lol.
In most other organizations he probably is seeing at least a rebuild of the offense through which ultimately happened.
@JojoTheWhale another point is too, look across the state. I know I’ve made ragged on him in recent years but I do think Tomlin is ultimately a pretty good head coach. But they’ve seemingly exhausted every option possible to keep that marriage going now based on what happened in the past. Frankly it would probably be beneficial for both parties to part ways at this point & start over fresh elsewhere. Pittsburgh has to go a step further & clean house in their front office obviously as well.
Matt Canada is jobless. Can I say he called it in?Pretty sure Brian Johnson called that last play for Alabama
Edit: Didn't realize there was an NCAA thread.
They won’t tho because AR2 loves mediocrity. Only thing that matters to Tomlin is that stupid streak of never having a losing season. 8-8-1 or 9-8 forever. Tomlin needs to go away.@JojoTheWhale another point is too, look across the state. I know I’ve made ragged on him in recent years but I do think Tomlin is ultimately a pretty good head coach.
