The tush push has suffered as I suspected. The wedge isn't really a wedge anymore, it's a diagonal line from Mailata with Dickerson (now at center) at the top. Not only that, but clearly Dickerson is very hurt.
That means you're more likely to have the defense fall ass backwards into stopping it. The best way to do this as a defense is to line up right into the teeth of the gaps, like a zipper, and take the offensive line 1 on 1. The whole point of the play is to exploit the soft spots where the defense tries to angle themselves/stuff into gaps with more than one player. This alters their center of gravity and it's impossible to stand your ground when taking force on a not-head on angle. This is why the wedge on the left side of the line is so effective, because it forces off angle contact.
So with the "top" of the tush push mass relegated to the center of the D line, it conveys more of a chance of a zipper style lineup from the defensive line. I expect to see a) more failures and b) more reliance on Hurts' second effort
