It's not that they have a short lifespan. That's secondary. It's that they don't move the needle much at all.

If you added [insert your choice for best RB in football], they still weren't close to the Chiefs. No one targeted RBs in the passing game less than the Eagles last year. Part of the reason is that they just didn't run the types of plays on which RBs make most of their impact. But the other component is that Hurts scrambles largely replace the checkdowns where those guys tend to rack up touches.

While we're at it, wasn't this the rationale for it being ok for the Chiefs to take CEH?

I tried to argue that with someone last week. Said that the production of an above average (not even very good or great) pass rusher for example has a greater impact on the outcome of a game than the production of an elite running back. Could not convince that person though.

I’m going home straight from the gym to watch the draft. Swamp ass and all.

It's not the lines moving that's interesting to me. It's agents with no affiliation to Richardson saying he's going super high.

I'm starting to wonder if it's Tennessee at 2/3.

A lot of draft twitter is saying Tennessee is looking to move up. But would you move up in your first year as GM? I know making hitting a home run is important and getting that franchise QB on a rookie QB is the most valuable thing ever. But the rest of that roster is cheeks. So why mortgage the future?

So the dots that my mind connected here are related to what Ran Carthon has said. It's a lot of the standard you win by running the ball and playing defense, but I can't help thinking that an NFL team could see that as Anthony Richardson's role. Think more Cam Newton and less like Lamar.

You know what I found interesting? This morning Daniel Jeremiah was on with Dan Patrick, and he said something about Richardson to Tennessee being possible, and Dan said "Have they already given up on Malik Willis?" I had forgotten all about him.

I don’t want to trade up. I want either Christian Gonzalez or Jalen Carter at 10. If neither is there at 10 trade back for Bijan and draft a defensive end at 30.

Charlie Campbell switched the Eagles pick today from LVN (who we funnily enough now get with pick #30) to Nolan Smith in his mock.
He was among the best mock drafters in the last few years and has his sources.

What is also very interesting is his latest comment on Tyree Wilson. According to him a team dropped him completely off the board due to injury concers. He is saying that Tyrees foot looks like Frankenstein and the procedure very likely needs to be redone. Could be a smokescreen but if true, this might throw a wrench into many different plans (including the Eagles plans because it makes it more unlikely that Carter drops).
