Professional 'athletes' of today could never handle the fan reactions from 90s to early 2000s wrestler crowds lol.

Got Westbrook trying to get people thrown out for calling him "Westbrick" lol.

I'm sure a ton of hockey players got 'beer showers' going up the tunnel.

Get paid a crap ton more money and can't even handle verbal insults today.

Well FWIW I mean I think fans were out of control back in the late 90s early 2000s at some wrestling shows, so I can't really say today's athletes are overall weak per say.

I do think NBA players are the softest by far though. Them being able to have a fan kicked out for some trash talk is wild to me.

I've always been wary about phrases like, "best passer in the class." It's the tallest midget all over again. The best QB prospect in a particular class may actually be someone who never scratches the Top 10 in any year of his career. It's how QBs like Jake Locker, Josh Rosen, (insert your favorite whipping boy here), and others get drafted high and bust. I get it - scheme, coaching, injuries, et al, are definite contributing factors - but unless I see a clear separation of talent and work ethic, I'm not mortgaging the future on what will effectively be a placeholder. Multiple studs (in hindsight) at QB in the first round of a draft year are the exception, not the rule. Who knows? Stroud, Richardson, or even Levis might be generational talents. I'm not a GM or a coach, but if a team is desperate to fill a need at QB and is not 100% convinced this is their guy - not just the best of a particular crop...well...BPA for me.

It is exactly deadhead's argument why we HAD to sign Kevin Hayes. "The Flyers needed a center, and he was the best in that FA class." Ignoring the fact that we had the option not to dip into a shitgarbage FA class.

I have to do a deep dive to even find the NFL in my FanDuel menu. What the heck.

I genuinely can't find any props. Searched NFL Draft and returned nothing.
Pretty sure I read that its not legal to bet on the draft in Pennsylvania. Not considered a sporting event or something like that.

Ah,. that's why
That’s because the state’s sports gaming laws are pretty black and white, at least when it comes to what you can or cannot bet on in the sporting world, anyway. And, no, exceptions are not being made.

“The PA Gaming Act is very clear that wagering must be “Sporting events or on the individual performance statistics of athletes in a sporting event or combination of sporting events,"” Doug Harbach, the communications director for the PA Gaming Control Board, told PennLive.

"The draft itself is not a “sporting event.”

Why aren’t NFL Draft props available to bet on in Pennsylvania?

I wonder if there was a bible verse involved in that conversation. Maybe they hand out matching rings to Levis on draft night instead of a jersey ?

There probably is still a 90% chance it is Young but this tracks too well with the random reddit rumor and Levis having a bible verse on his arm making Reich fall in love with him (like Carson did with his bible bs) would be too funny a story not to root for.

Birds have a lot of needs, but also are in win now mode. They do not have a lot of picks, so the choice is trade up for a guy who could help win the SB next year, trade back for picks for the future

Ideallly they do both. Trade up for Carter and recoup the picks you gave up to move up in part by trading back from #30.

I also wouldn't be shocked if we see Howie doing something like trade a 2024 3rd rounder for a 2023 4th if the right player is available. We are projected to have 12 picks next year and I think Howie will use a few of those to get more picks in this draft or move up in this draft.

But yeah I am at the point now where I do not want to pick at #10. Either trade up for Carter or trade down (ideally for a haul from someone that jumps up for a QB. A Minnesota 2024 1st rounder would be a really nice get).

It's important to note that the trade up report may be from WalterFootball, but it's not Walter himself. It's Charlie Campbell. He's actually been pretty good with draft stuff.

I don't want to trade up, but if my choices at 10 are LVN + a mid rounder or Jalen Carter....yeah.

Jason is the best. I'm going to avoid mentioning the bonus structure because, well you know why.

Howie gets to market first and I think we all know by now it's important. But laying out the timeline of guarantees by various years shows you the benefits so clearly. The Bengals are not exactly flush with cash. You would think they would be racing to get it done.

You preparing the LVN-isn't-that-bad-speech to calm the troops down?

I wanted to like LVN too. Damn you guys.

If you like LVN, it’s because you think you think he’s just underdeveloped and that’s fair. Right now, he’s not very good. I will never want that guy at 10. That’s personal preference, not an evaluation.

The other thing is that I am immediately skeptical of EDGEs without bend unless you’re a Bosa. Some of those guys will hit and you’ll look like a genius. Most of them have a hard cap on how good they can be against NFL OTs. You need excellent hands and some kind of killer inside move to have a prayer. These are the two reasons I also don’t want Tyree Wilson as high as he’s going to go.

This is also why I was out on Myles Murphy at 10 when he was still a common mock choice. But at least with Murphy, we had one really good year. It just wasn’t this year. What is it with Clemson players plateauing early?
