A little surprised that Loving didn't get one of the best drama nods over Lion or Hacksaw Ridge, but as long as Moonlight, Manchester by the Sea, Hell or High Water, and Elle/Isabelle Huppert gets lots of attention, I'm happy.

I guess the favourites this year in their respective supporting acting categories are Mahershala Ali and Michelle Williams. For once, I heartily endorse the front runners.

I wonder why the GGs don't have an award for best documentary.

As long as Mahershala Ali wins, I will be happy.

Jonah Hill in wardogs though, SMH. I can't believe that got him a nomination in anything.

Little disappointed to see the nice guys getting no noms (thought screenplay or comedy might squeak in) but otherwise not too surprised

I feel like La La Land is just one big circle jerk of Hollywood celebrating itself. It was ok, but a movie of extremely little substance.

Deadpool for best comedy and Ryan Reynolds for best actor. Well OK then. It is the Golden Globes though so I shouldn't be surprised with at least a few outrageous nominations.

The most important questions regarding the show - will Ricky Gervais be hosting again?

Don't understand how Thomas Haden Church didn't get a nomination for Divorce. He's awesome in it.

And no Anthony Hopkins?

Really? He made War Dogs. Played his character really well and epitomized everything that was wrong with people like him.

Also, yes, surprised that Hopkins didn't get a nomination - He was phenomenal.

I'm happy Adams is nominated for best actress for Arrival, but I wish the movie had been nominated too. Haven't seen any of the nominated movies yet but I do plan to this holiday season. Now I know what I need to see for all the Oscar stuff.

EDIT:

I did see Hell or High Water and Deadpool (A golden globe nomination for best comedy? Interesting). Still really need to see Moonlight and Manchester by the Sea though.

As entertaining as Stranger Things has been, it's nowhere close to Westworld for me. It's been a while that I enjoyed a series that much & had such a blast in a series final.

Agreeing with the others though. If Hopkins is left out, it should be Wood & Newton winning at least.

I'm surprised that House of Cards was snubbed. Season 4 was enthralling and Spacey knocked it out of the park. Was it past some sort of deadline or something?

I think Viola Davis is the favorite for Supporting Actress right now.

Sing Street not getting into Best Song sums up the Golden Globes to me. Not really all that worth paying attention to.

I don't care about the Golden Globes much, the Emmys are usually a much better representation of what's good (other than some bias with nominating a few of the same shows every year regardless of how deserving they are). I would love to see at least some of Matthew Rhys, Keri Russell, Thandie Newton and Evan Rachel Wood win awards though, as I feel that Westworld and The Americans are the two best shows on tv right now.
