What is Leafs Nation willing to pay to dump Mrazek's contract?

Gotta think his list of suitors is pretty limited given poor play, cap hit, dollars owed, contract term, and injury history. Most teams will be able to find a better goalie for equal or lesser value.

To note, he has 2 years left at 3.8 mil per but is owed a total of $8.6 mil cash over that time.

This season, he won 12 of 20 games but had a .888 SV and 3.34 GAA.

If Arizona wants cap hit then they can go for Weber who is owed just 4m cash, is insurable and carries a 7.8 cap hit.

I'm guessing Mrazek + 2nd + depth (bottom 6 or 3rd pairing) will get it done though

I know you want our 1st, I don't think you are getting that I think if that goes with Marazek it will be a bigger deal

At full cap hit? Gotta think it would be a lot… probably a couple firsts (they will still be late firsts) or a first and a B prospect.

There will be a many teams paying a premium to the cap floor teams to free up cap space.

It’s 2 full year at $3.8m AAV… and a total of $8.6m in real money. Other teams could offer the same cap hits but significantly less real money… that’s a big deal to a team like Arizona.

Based on his current value, I'd estimate Mrazek is overpaid by about $5m in real $'s. So the cost for TOR to dump him should be something like two 2nd round picks worth of value.

A team that can't make it out of the first round shouldn't be trading 1st round picks.

I think Mrazek, their '24 2nd and a prospect like Hollowell for a guy like Christian Fischer could be a good deal for both sides.

The Leafs are going to need some more physical bodies in their bottom six. And their primary focus in the offseason should be to get younger, deeper and cheaper.

Arizona on the other hand, is going to give Vejmelka the reins. And Mrazek is more than capable of handling backup or split-starter duties. And he's injury prone enough to give the prospects an opening.

From the AZ side, I'd do this deal.
