Hutch is about as good as a 3rd stringer gets, but it doesn’t matter cause it’s Woll who was called upSo Hutch is gonna be the back up for the next 4 weeks? Wtf. Why do they have no good goalie prospects? Is t it Dubas job to make sure we have good goaltending prospects?
traded for one last season, then didnt resign him... no idea what he's thinking in the goalie dept ...unless hutch has some pictures stashed away.So Hutch is gonna be the back up for the next 4 weeks? Johnny Boychuk just got moved for futures
McElhinney had a good stretch of games for us, Management let him go. it sucked but he isnt coming back. Some of these guys gotta get with the times.Wish I could give this two likes. People live in the past for too long.
Prospects aren't meant to be 3rd string goalies. Hutch is around as an insurance policy in case of injuries so that the young guys can continue to play consistent minutes in the AHL/ECHL. Woll is up for pay reasons exclusively. Once the team travels you can bet that Hutch will be with the team. they signed Källgren who has okay numbers, but, i havent watched a marlies game this year, so i cant judge? ...they also have some 6'6" guy i cant remember the name, but, far from ready, and a long shot i'd think to be anything, but, i'd take a long shot over Hutch
Go find a not injury riddled goalie.....who is any good.I never understood signing an injury riddled backup to any kind of mid term deal .. 750K to 1.5M max for your backup .. another mistake by Dubie on this one .. too many mgmt errors

More unnecessary whining for NO reason. You need a goalie who could carry the mail if Campbell wasn't real.
Absolutely stupid thinking to sign a true backup going into this season. Thankfully, Dubas is a hell of a lot smarter than most on here.

You don't pay that kinda CAP $$$ to an injury riddled tender for 3 years .. you give him a 1 year deal and see what you gotGo find a not injury riddled goalie.....who is any good.

The leafs haven't had a good goalie prospect since Potvin, that's embarassing that in 30 years, we only have had 1 good goalie to show for it... and no I won't even count Reimer. Yes and no about Dubas- His job is to acquire picks sure, and more importantly KEEP them(emphasis on keep), but it's the scouting team to snuff out prospects, and then the developing coaches to properly guide the prospects to the NHL.
I don't know why anyone is surprised, especially Dubas.
He keeps signing guys expecting their history to conveniently change when they play for his team. It should be no surprise when fat, lazy Ritchie is fat and lazy or when guys like Mrazek who can't stay in the lineup, can't stay in the lineup.
Mrazek is a 3.8M cap hit for another 2 seasons after this one. And it's already looking like a dead weight contract.
The leafs will have to do some cap-gymnastics if they have to sign Campbell to a big contract

The Maple Leafs are paying now — and might be paying later — for the foolish reach they made on signing Petr Mrazek for three years and $11.4 million in the off-season.
Really, they should have known better. They should have done more homework on the goaltender. They should have understood why Carolina didn’t want him back, which was for similar reasons the Leafs soured on Frederik Andersen.
