Burying him means about $2.65M of wasted cap space, so even a league min rookie replacement is the equivalent of paying him around $3.4M. So yea, about $400k savings and a league min goalie.
i f***ed up , i thought i was in the Ritchie thread and discussing his cap hit

my bad , i feel shame

This is looking like a very bad signing. Another $3.8M in wasted cap space on a already cap strapped team.

I never liked his AAV from the day they signed him.

Worrisome. If Campbell ever went down with an injury we’re screwed. It would be Hutchison/Woll, eeesh.
Now do this for the other 31 teams and their top 2 goalies.
He needs to get healthy, but when he does I expect him to play like he always has, which will be good enough to support jack down the stretch with good starts so jack can be rested for the playoffs. As long as this doesn’t become a year long lingering issues he won’t be hard to get moved in the off-season to one of the many teams who will be looking for goaltending support.
He also won’t cost us Campbell, right now there’s 5.45m committed to the goalies, move mrazek and sign jack for something with a 4 and grab a sub mil back up.

The guys played two games and had an unlucky couple injuries. This hasn't suddenly killed 100% of his value from the offseason where he was universally considered to be a 1B around the league

The worst thing in sports fandom is the armchair-doctoring by folks who have zero qualifications.
The armchair GM'ing that inevitably accompanies that armchair doctoring is even worse.

It is nice to see some of the people who have been avoiding the more positive threads lately because we are winning have joined back into the conversation here.

Isn't Mrazek's injury history generally not related to his groin? So people saying we bought damaged goods would be completely wrong? I thought he broke his thumb last year.

Mrazek is a good goalie, his groin will heal, they just shouldn't rush it.

Trade talk so early is ridiculous, if you trade him you better get a good back up (not Hutch), otherwise you risk having no back up plan should Jack crap the bed like he did in games 5,6, and 7.

He'll be fine. Jeez louise...

He's not the first and won't be the last goaltender to have a groin injury. I don't know when groin injuries have become the equivalent to losing a limb. Just ask Andersen and Campbell last season.

It's not that he JUST pull his groin, it's that he has a long history if injuries, is making shy of 4 mil per year on a team that less less cap space than I have in my savings account, looks like a hot mess pile of garbage over his first 2 games and we might lose Campbell because of his garbage contract.

Theyre not going to lose Campbell because of Mrazek... Dont be ridiculous

In what world would we lose Campbell over
Mrazek? You cant be serious?

Do you mind educating me on what his injuries were and if they are related to each other? There is a big difference if he is constantly injuring a specific body part like Kase or Scott versus injury different things, like say a thumb one season and a groin the next.

Well that sucks, goes from missing two weeks to now missing six weeks.

Holy shit, we are actually gonna see hutch in a game….. yea I’ll probably skip those games and watch paint dry, it’ll be more enjoyable

Hopefully that's by Friday because otherwise Hutch has to play either Calgary or Buffalo and he's proven during the majority of his time he can't play
Hell be out 4 weeks according to reports this am, gonna have to rely on hutch for a little bit.
better to rest mrazek now so he’s 100% down the stretch
